Greatest COWBOYS WR of all time. I love Michael too, brother, but Jerry Rice was just unbelievable. Ask Michael, himself and he'll tell you Rice was the guy he always measured himself against and only bested him one season. Even to MI, Rice is the gold standard. With that being said. I love our guy. Absolutely love him.

Rice was good no doubt but he played longer and played in an offense that was for him. Irvin was in a dominating run team and played way much less seasons that Rice. Stop looking at stats, Irvin as a player was the best receiver to ever play in the NFL. Nothing against Rice but he just wasn't better than Irvin

I love that Irvin is the way he is. Because if so many others outright show disrespect and hate for the Cowboys. Then we need him out there to counter act them.

Randy Cross and Todd Christianson out right showed their hate for Dallas when they were announcing.

Rice was good no doubt but he played longer and played in an offense that was for him. Irvin was in a dominating run team and played way much less seasons that Rice. It's not about stats, brother. That guy was smooth as silk. Don't let blind homerism blind you from the truth. Like I said, Irvin himself, has stated that Rice was the best to ever play the game. I'm certain he knows more about the subject than you and I combined. And, before you even make the argument, there isn't enough humble on the planet for Michael to make that concession if he actually believed he was the best. That dude has a Texas sized ego and if he actually thought he was the best WR in the history of the league, he would remind everyone on the planet of it every moment he got.

I know so. Let me guess you think Rice is the best because he owns most all the receiving records. Emmitt items almost all the running back records but he isn't considered the greatest. Rice was good no doubt maybe even 2nd behind Irvin but he benefited in playing so long and an offense that show cased him. Irvin played in a run almost always offense and career was cut short. I wouldn't want any other receiver over Irvin and that's real talk, not just his playmaking abilities but his abilities as a leader and motivator

I’m quite aware that nobody is perfect, I only have to look in the mirror every day to remind myself of that. But I also don’t buy into this idea that because nobody is perfect we can’t ascribe to some common sense of decency.

Good player doesn’t equal class act, necessarily. As I said the play maker was a phenomenal football player and is a deserving Cowboys legend. But off the field he’s kind of a prick and a scumbag. That’s not really even up for debate

I can appreciate his considerable talents on the field and at the same time hope and pray that my two boys never turn out to be any sort of a person like he has been off the field

Frankly if Michael Irvin was my son I would be extremely proud of what he accomplished as a football player and totally ashamed of what he was as a man off the field

People want to take away from Rice because he played a long time. I don’t get it. The only reason he was able to play for so long so effectively was because he was the GOAT.
