Meacham has been a bust so far in a pass happy offense. One of my biggest pet peeves is guys that cant stay healthy, thats Meacham. So no. As for Free I need to see him do something on the field before I make any judgements but the fact he was inactive all but a couple games is ominous. Unfortunately Flozell is on his last legs IMO so Free needs to stay. Also with MBIII running style Choice needs to stay. By the way Choice had a great game against the Superbowl champs on the road. Enough said.
I'll echo this post. I would not really think of moving Choice, but if you dangled a 1st round pick at me, I'd move him out quicker than a fighter jet.

Colston, sure. Meachem, nope.

Come on Sean, hook a brother up.

Not a chance! It's not even worth pondering. Choice is our future back. Gotta keep him.

Not saying I would do it, because I wouldn't and regardless of MBIII's running style, he is only 26 and very polished. Marion Barber is the present and future at rb for this team.

The Boyz aren't trading for any WR and most likely aren'tgoing to pick another 1 up. If they were going to they could have had Tory Holt without giving up choice or anyother player. Jerry seems extremely content with this recieving core. God forbid RW11 goes down for a game or 3.

Uh, you don't think I was serious about that, do you? I mean, I am serious that I would love for it to happen, but I clearly was joking about it being possible. Hence the "hook a brother up" comment.

I can definitely see Dallas trade Choice if someone wants to offer up a trade for him as a starting RB. Dallas has hit on 3 RB draft picks in a row and has to love their scouting at the position.

BUT ... there is no way trading Meachum is attaching proper value.

Choice is worth far more than that. I'd take Meachum and 1st plus 5th rounders next year tho for Choice, Ellis and Carpenter.

I do think Dallas can flip some players for picks next year which is why it wasn't imperative they do so on draft day imho.

I really like Choice but he is a stock I would sale high. Teams can't keep 3 really good running backs locked up too long.

Meachem, from what I've read, is having trouble transitioning in and out of his breaks.

I think a Carpenter for Meachem trade would work.

Perhaps, the Cowboys can straighten Meachem out. Meachem showed some flashes in the preseason and early in the year.

Payton isn't afraid to bury # 1 picks in his dog house. I think it's a mistake to do that to your top draft picks.

Meachem needs to get out of New Orleans just like Carpenter needs to get out of Dallas.

Heck, I'd be reluctant to trade Bobby Carpenter for Robert Meachem.

The ONLY way I'd trade Choice is for a future #1.

They are both unproven, but Meachum at least looks like he could star is healthy. I would go so far as to say that IF he could stay healthy he would be a starter on our team by mid-season.
Big if though.

At this point, who knows if his knee is going to be a long term issue.

Lombardi always seems to say nice things about the "boys and JJ. He liked our draft too. I wonder if he is secretly trying to trick JJ into hiring him.

Lombardi's suggestion makes me think that there's a good reason he is on TV, and not in an NFL Team's front office.

I do that so fast Payton's head would spin.

DFWJC is right, Meachem has some talent. I know he got in the doghouse for being overweight early, and I don't know if he has issues more than that. But he does show ability, and for only the price of a bust like Carp? Oh hell yes.

CALLS I'D MAKE THIS WEEK IF...

IF I WORKED FOR THE SAINTS...
I would call the Cowboys and try to twist their arm to see if they'd trade 2008 fourth-round pick Tashard Choice. He's 215 pounds and has the skills for the Saints' offense and the power for short yardage. I might even dangle first-round pick Robert Meachem in front of them to see what they think. Cowboys back-up offensive tackle Doug Free would be another target of mine.
And this is why you are no longer a GM Mike.
Perhaps you should peddle your drivel to Danny Snyder and he might listen to this crap.

Lombardi is a joke he and Jeremy Green from ESPN had jobs in the NFL for 1 reason, their dad's. Lombardi was so bad, Oakland fired him. No way I would trade Choice for Meachum, Meachum has done jack in a pass first offense. Only trade I would do is Carpenter for Meachum, to 1st round busts for one another. We don't lose anything if Meachum sucks here.

Choice would be off limits, I'd almost trade MBIII before him.

I'm on the same wave....not for Meacham of course.....A.Boldin--wants too much money........

MBIII contract probably makes it impossible, problem Choices contract makes it plausible.......

Just looked back at the Pro Football Weekly article.

It says Meachem's roster spot may be in trouble this year. It says that he needs to improve his route running and do a better job of staying low in and out of his cuts. That can be fixed, imo.

This is exactly the type of player I would go after. He's still young, and he has three years left on his contract.

I don't think the Cowboys would trade Choice.

The 2006 draft class was a bust and getting Meachem would give us a first round pick out of that class and give us more talent at that position.

If you hit on him, it's going to be a big hit. This guy is a homerun threat and can run after the catch.
