And who says I believe that Hayes shouldn't be in the Hall? Never said that. Never believed it. What I said was I don't believe that his absence is due to an anti-Cowboy bias. I firmly believe his drug conviction is the reason why people have soured on him as well as the "stat freak" mentality of many of the sportswriters who look at his numbers and say "meh."

I was citing the popular "Lynn Swann had weak #s so player X should be in the hall" argument used to support folks like Drew Pearson. That has nothing to do with Hayes.
Again, I don't subscribe to the Swann theories. I believe in impact on the game.

Zimmerman resigns over the bias, but you don't believe it exists.

Okay.

Okay.

I believe that Zimmerman believes there is a bias -- but Zimmerman may just as likely be upset that he couldn't get his way. People make lots of claims when they can't get what they want.

Note, of course, that he resigned from the Senior selection committee. He still holds a position on the more important regular selection committee.

If we take his claim as fact, I guess that means he thinks there is only bias on the senior committee.

I listed several examples, including commentary by one voter against another.

Keep your head in the sand. You won't hear the monsters that way.

You gonna address the Dr. Z. issue more or just accept that he was blowing smoke?

I'm going to assume you prefer to keep blinders on to anything that any source says and stop wasting my time.

WOW what a class! All the players deserve to be first ballot but if i had to choose it would be Seau who doesnt make it just because dont get me wrong he was fantastic but when u think of great linebackers u think of other players in this era that have had as much as impact to their team or maybe even more like Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher even though they came obviously later. im not comparing them the last couple years but their careers and it could be argued and easily won that Lewis and Urlacher were better than him. Everyone else in that class you cant easily find other players sort of almost in the same time frame that are better than them. Favre was the best of his era at his position, Ogden the best of his era, Strahan best of his era, Sapp best of his era and our own beloved Larry Allen clearly the best of his era! So i think its pretty clear that if Seau is in that class he would be the man out. Any other player not making it would be a complete snub way more than Seau! No disrespect to Seau because in any other class no doubt he is 1st ballot but this would be unlucky class to be put in for him. i wouldnt be surprised that he realizes this and decides to return to the Pats so he can be a 1st ballot HOF in the next class...
