"I want [49ers coaches'] eyeballs here," Martz said regarding Lance. "I've never seen anything about this kid that was encouraging at all. He really has to plant himself to make a good throw, he's not a quick decision guy."

Lance has been praised for his mobility, which was a large reason he was selected third overall in 2021 – but Martz said he "looked like a fullback stumbling around trying to run the ball."

"I've never liked him. I still don't like him," he said. "I'd like to know what he does so well. He's not a great passer, he doesn't have good skills, takes a long time to set himself to throw the football, misses easy throws."

That’s basically what I thought of Lance then he suffered 2 season ending NFL injuries and you have to wonder what was this FO thinking . Let’s put it this way you can spend a 4 on competition to Cooper Rush possibly Dak . Why hand the pick to SF ? Of all teams .

:p

And a $10M swing between both teams this year.

I am sure Cap Boy loves that move by GM Jethro.

Are you sure he isn't talking about Dak?

And after blowing a 4 on Lance the man doesn’t even break bread last season , MM and the O staff couldn’t stick Lance in one lousy series a wildcat formation anything .

Justin Fields is a better QB than Lance by miles and the Bears couldn’t get a 4 for him . The dopes running Atlanta would rather pay Kirk Cousins . It’s no wonder the same teams compete at the tip every year and 3/4 of this league is spinning its wheels . Dallas included .

QB is an intellectual position first, 2nd and athletically 3rd.

If getting facts straight is important, North Dakota State is Division I FCS which is significantly more competitive than Division II.
LOL, Jabril Cox was Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. It should tell you how tough Division I FCS football is.

Lance should simply be viewed as a developmental QB. If Dallas had used a late 4th on a project QB that washed out after a season or two, nobody would give it a second thought.
