I don't see why people are harping on ESPN for bringing this up. I know in our society it is en vogue to make fun of the media but that doesn't really hold water here. Why wouldn't ESPN have a conversation around this? His teammates (including the QB) and coaches and GM have come out and said it is a distraction. Should ESPN just ignore this story because...well...just because you find it distasteful?

Ding Ding.

A discussion sure. An over the top roundtable for 30 minutes with like 8 people while Herm Edwards yells and points his finger at the women on the roundtable and correlates it to his days in preschool. No. thats over the top silliness. I am not mad, upset, it didn't ruin my day or whatever else everyone is thinking.

A. I found the roundtable amazingly stupid only to go beyond that with edwards yelling about crackers and milk.
B. I think it is the perfect thing to be spoofed by SNL. I was laughing watching this, not mad.
C. I heard mike and mike this morning while dropping off my kids and found it funny how quickly they just associate anything with Dez and then agree Dez is worse based on non true events.

thats all. Not much to it.

and if you don't like it Herm Edwards will take your crackers and milk.

Maybe since I only read a few lines of the OP...have skipped all this dialog on the networks...i shouldn't comment.

But I will.

I suggest every sports fan enjoy their sports. I also suggest having some good music or some audio books on hand when you want to raise the bar on spending time. It's 100x more fun.

well my first love is music. I own well over 2500 Albums, CD's, Tapes and Digital files. My day wasn't ruined, I am not mad. I was more amused by herm edwards and shook my head when mike and mike just passively said dez is worse.

thats it.

journalism died long ago.

what we have now is media entertainment. not news.

Maybe as far as many of the TV "news" programs are concerned and some print rags, but as a journalist and editor of a small-city newspaper, we live and breathe true journalism. Frankly, it makes me sad that people call that other stuff journalism because it most certainly is not.

So, you're telling me ESPN sees Dez the way a noisy minority of our fans see Dez? I wonder if there's any connection?

It's kinda like when I realized that Galloway and that ilk complained about Garrett's playcalling ad nauseum last time I visited.

not seen a small town paper in awhile but was a journalism minor in college and worked for the clinton daily news for a long long time. you and i likely see the same painful thing out there due to our "small town roots" on this topic?

If we're not winning with good offensive production, elite QB play, and mediocre defense, what else could it possibly be?

Play calling. And the good plays are ones where Romo bails the OC out. Nothing else makes sense.

You said practices though. Weird how you actually know the story but you exaggerate it for effect. Maybe your issues with Dez are just projection. And the whole point of the post was to point out the ignorance of comparing the two and you took the bait and joined in.

Yes keep telling yourself Dez is innocent, media conspiracy, blah blah. I wasn't comparing the 2 players to each other but to their own selfish, spoiled ways. Just my opinion based on the information and what I observe on the field. If you have anything to refute the information like I asked besides, basic paranoia and media conspiracy theory, I will gladly change my opinion.
I read about the story however more importantly listened directly to the reaction of the story from the DC FO, Dez and JG and derived an opinion. As suspected you evidently cannot find proof against the story (which the DC FO could do if it was not true) until you can tell me otherwise, well agree to disagree.
I judge all players by their on field production and off field work to increase their production. I love Dez, the passionate, productive player on the field. I don't like ANY player who becomes a negative distraction by skipping meetings and rehab unless there's a valid reason. If the player is (by his own actions and discretion) hindering his health, play or the teams improvement without reason (which evidently is the case here) then I have a beef. Especially after getting paid I might add.
If the story was not true, then you would think the Joneses and Garrett would say exactly that or provide a valid reason why he skipped. "Dez will be Dez", is not a valid reason and it's why I'm asking you for any other factual information to the story.
In the bigger picture, my issue is really not with Dez actions but with a FO that has enabled this behavior. They are the true culprit in my opinion.

How come Marvin jones, Travis Landry, and Demaryius Thomas get no loves
:)

Now Dez is currently #91 in receiving yards this season. He could climb quickly if he overcomes his injuries and starts balling. Right now, I'm just hoping he gets around 900-1000 yds. Early on, I had hopes that he would eventually become a HOFer, but after looking at career receiving yards and his age, it's pretty much impossible for him now

congratulations, I bet the 5 year old Dez would love to have had you or anyone as a dad or a parent. He didn't so his life has been different from most.

At some point you have to take responsibility for your own life. He is 27 and a 7 year veteran. He made it. Time to start acting like it. Just sayin. Grow up, mature, move on. Most people do it.

- Who cares?
- What was that, 5 years ago?
- Alleged? Okay then.
- Yep
- Who cares?
- Who cares?
- *sigh* we all have the sideline audio, don't pretend we didn't. You know for a fact this was a misunderstanding and a jump the gun by the media. Stop with the sensationalism
- Didn't "punch" his mother, there was a family dispute he then attempted to calm her down by grabbing her. She alleged he hit her with a ball cap
- Who cares?
- Never seen him "go off" on reporters. I am going out on a limb and say you're pulling something straight out of your ***. Even if he did, who cares?
- Still no evidence, still just a rumor, still from ESPN, and still something Dez denies

So, since he got here, he's never been suspended or arrested. Had a couple of minor incidents off the field early on. Is that all? No one has ever claimed Dez is a perfect player or golden boy.

Get back to me when Dez is facing suspension or is arrested.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE!!!! LOL
