I like him already!Nolan is the guy who caused the stir by refusing to wear "officially licensed NFL gear" on the sidelines, preferring the Landry suit and tie.

It has to be officially licensed. I remember Reebok was going to make a suit and tie for him so he can wear it.So, is he bringing back the suit and tie that he used to have? I like it in all seriousness.
Slater finally got one
I'd rather trade for the best SS in the league and draft a huge, excellent 1T, but that's me. Jamal Adams is certainly that.Focus on the best FS in the draft? Wish we grabbed him last year.

If i were Nike, i would do this in a heartbeat and see if they can sell business attire. They already do business casual.
I hope so...so glad that Marinelli DT idea gone...we hope!
Time will tell to be sure, if Nolan is indeed worse it will not take long to find out.I’m glad Rod is gone.
I just want to see a DC with a better coaching record.
Rod is better.
that’s not good.
You nailed it...Focus on the best FS in the draft? Wish we grabbed him last year.
Cant be worse than Marinelli's Bend THEN Break, never get any Turnovers, missing Tackles with Twitch Guys, 1999 Tampa Defense
Like make adjustments? Omg I wouldn't know wut to do.
Just two more retreads and we'll be full of bald tires.
Unlike the passive coverages and blitzes seen under Van Gorder, Mike Nolan employs a tenacious defense bent on pressuring the QB and overwhelming the offensive line. This involves blitzes from the LB corps, and coordination amongst the Front Seven. Nolan's aggressiveness leaves the secondary in some tight positions, relying on man coverage with safety blankets from the safeties. Thus with a solid secondary, Nolan is allowed to be more creative with his blitzes.
From his Atlanta stint...
You need a ton of talent/coaching to pull it off like you said earlier. Coaches need to be able to anticipate what the offense is going to do or they get roasted. They need to prepare their players for all kinds of eventualities. Simple does not cut it when surprise is key.
Then you need corners that can win at man. DT that can clog the run. Back 7 players that can blitz. Secondary players that can anticipate and drive on throws. Jones is a priority with Nolan. Then we have corners. We have Brown, Chido, and Smith who can blitz. We need ballhawks particularly at S and DT that can anchor.
What is encouraging is our blitz success rate the past couple of years has been really good.
I just post the facts.
Anyone can look it up. Pro football ref .
He’s probably the worst DC available.
From 1997 on as D Coordinator only,
Commanders 1997 - 1999 : Chris Mims, Marc Boutee (4-3), Dan Wilkinson, Doug Brown (4-3), Dan Wilkinson, Dana Stubblefield (4-3)
Jets 2000 : Jason Ferguson (3-4)
Ravens 2002 - 2004 : Kelly Gregg (3-4)
Broncos 2009 : Ronald Fields (3-4)
Dolphins 2010-2011 : Paul Soliai (3-4)
Falcons 2012 - 2014 : Jonathan Babineaux, Peria Jerry (4-3) Jonathan Babineaux, Corey Peters (4-3), Tyson Jackson, Paul Soliai (4-3)
Does not look like we are going to draft a DT early
Well Saints run defense has been pretty good for the most part. Good hire.
Yup, he's run multiple fronts. His father ran the flex. He can also coach a 4-6. He's been known to flip fronts in a game frequently based on the situation and personnel.
