Is that good or bad now a days
Bledsoe had a helluva career.
14th on the NFL all-time passer list.....yards anyway.

If this guy just ends up being a long career backup that would be a success for him.
Above and beyond that is gravy.
And if he reaches top 15 all-time passing yards...well...wow!

I watched him last night for a bit. His throws reminded me of Romo a little. Decent arm,not hard powerful throws as usually implied by “big arm”. It’s a quick release with touch on it,ok accuracy (good and bad throws) and he likes to get the ball off fast to take advantage of coverage. Reads well, not fast legs, but knows how to move himself around the pocket, and does escape tackles to make a play downfield. The only big red flag I saw...but it’s big. His poor decision making under pressure...he makes bad ones, and ill advised throws with a defender closing in. ( Int machine doing that at this level.) All in all after viewing,he’s not a bad QB to take a flyer on at all. And I’d already say he’s good enough for the backup competition. But he’s not as good as some of the talk from draft write ups once your eyes watch either. But the FO reeeally likes this kid,and are intent on seeing him play ASAP. They didn’t bring him here to sit 3rd on the depth chart and run scout teams. They want him fighting for Coopers job out the gate, which pushes not only Cooper but Dak as well. So that’s a good thing at minimum. Also shows they aren’t afraid to draft a QB,make a change if necessary, and are aware of covering their basses in the event Dak doesn’t pan out.

If he is White, Bledsoe or mini Brady then we just hit the lottery.... again. But let's wait till we see him in training camp. If he makes the squad then we may have something but I suspect most likely practice squad.

I would like him to be the next Tom Brady....:muttley:

Bledsoe gets injured, Brady a late round draft pick comes in and the rest is history as we know.

No I am not saying Dak should get injured....I think everyone knows what I mean.
And just having a little fun with it.

yeah here's his scouting report:

Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess

oops that's Dak..

How can you compare Dak's line to White's ?
Injuries. Retirement of a starting tackle. Loss of a starting guard to free agency. And inadequate depth behind the starters. And an inadequate left guard replaced the starter we lost.

I'm looking at White as a longshot to actually be of service in a drastic emergency.

Hopefully, his services won't be required anytime soon or ever, for that matter. ;)

For the present, I'm looking at Cooper Rush as our best bet to offer backup help.
I think you're mixing up Mike White with Cooper Rush. Granted, Rush has more time in the system, but he was also not even close to the prospect that White is. Granted, I doubt White would be a huge impact in year one, there is no reason to believe that he would be a better QB than Cooper. I think it is likely that once White has a preseason under his belt, he'll be the #2 QB on this team.

Injuries or not, the Cowboys O-Line was still better than average for most of last season. There was only one game where it was bad and only a couple where it was below average. White's line was okay, but not very good (comparably, not close to what Dak had, even in 2017).

Rush v. White will be interesting. Rush looked surprisingly good in preaseason last year, but he doesn’t have a strong arm. White has the strong arm, but we will have to wait and see if he can look as good as Rush did last year. Who knows, maybe they’ll keep 3 QBs or one can slide to the practice team.

I tend to lean toward thinking Rush's arm is better than what he gets credit for, although seeing him in TC vs. less than top notch talent might cause him to appear better than he really is. Still, he looked impressive enough last year to give most rookie QBs as much as they can handle. I think you're right about it being an interesting matchup, though. I'm hoping they both do well and provide us with quality backups, if not more, for a long time to come.

Which Oline were you watching? Dak was on the run or on his back too much in 2017. But according to you it’s because he lacks talent, right??? But this division 2 college quarterback is a godsend with tons of talent? SMH
