People, are you still laughing at me for putting Miles Austin at the top of the charts. Notice that Miles Austin average more than any active wide receiver that is in the top 20. Miles Austin is no. 1 in Average per catch 19.6.

Just imagine he was playing much earlier?

Miles Austin 42 catches 824 receiving yards 8 Touchdowns
Larry Fitzgerald 75 catches 826 receiving yards 9 Touchdowns
Andre Johnson 63 catches 945 receving yards, 5 Touchdowns
Steve Smith 72 catches 869 receiving yards, 5 Touchdowns
Reggie Wayne 79 catches 987 receiving yards, 9 Touchdowns
Randy Moss 66 catches 992 receiving yards, 8 Touchdowns

Look, again, no one is knocking Miles or what he has done. I just don't think 7 games - 3 of which he was pretty much shut out and the other 4 against bad or stupid teams - is anywhere close to a sample size to declare him an elite WR.

Every week opposing DC's are getting more film on him. The league is going to adjust. If he can adjust back and still put up numbers I'll buy in, but its just too early.

He is absolutely playing like an elite WR though. He has exactly one game that he really wasn't much of a factor in and that is Green Bay, where ALL of our WRs sucked horribly. I'm pretty sure we didn't complete a pass to a WR against them until the end of the third.

Other than that, Austin caught 4 passes for 47yds against the Skins (NOT a bad pass D by any means) and scored TDs against every other team he has played much against this season.

2TDs vs. KC
2TDs vs. ATL
TD vs SEA
TD vs PHI
TD vs OAK

61 yds and a TD isn't a bad performance, nor is 49 yds and a TD, if they seem that way it's because his other performances this season have been so absolutely ridiculous. He has had one, maybe two bad performances over the seven game stretch, I'm okay with that.

I'll admit I was one of those loud mouth idiots yammering about how we should take the 2.

Lost alot of credibility points on that one.

I will have to disagree with this comment.

Besides criticizing the Coaching Staff and the Quarterback publicly, I believe Roy Williams was the main factor in the decision to release Terrell Owens.

Also, if Miles Austin did play a major role in Jerry Jones' decision to release Terrell Owens, I think it is a travesty that he didn't get much playing time until the Kansas City game, in which Roy Williams was hurt.
