This may be one of the best, if not thee best, description of the unreasonable Romo hate that exists at this point in time.

Even if Romo does win a Superbowl I'm sure this garbage won't completely go away.

It would go away from me.. but let's be real.. Tony Romo will never win a super bowl and will never be voted in the hall of fame either. Romo EARNED his choker label.
He had a cinderella story going from an UDFA to a good QB. He is not great, he is not a leader, he does choke, and will never win a super bowl.

you would never admit it. You frankly would never have the stones to admit it. You just would disappear and no one would ever miss you.

That's technically true, but people abandon online profiles and start new ones. Happens all the time--more often than most might believe.

Linehan says we will begin throwing the ball down the field again, this argument will be settled a few games into the season. Thank Heavens.

The hatred has been so vile over the years, I do (sadly) have a mental record of those that made up those ranks. Kind of hard to forget the ones who attacked the guy on a personal level.

There's nothing you can say to get the "choker" crowd to put down their pitchforks.

They've always held onto those very limited bad plays as if it was their lifeblood to hatred entitlement.

It's like Staubach said after the Denver game last year; that he finally realized there were some out there that would never let up...even when the team lost after scoring 48 pts and punting one time, the QB had 500 yards, 5 TDs and only 1int. That one int would erase all the greatness and even the 51 points given up by the defense.

Most QBs will never have one game in their lives where they played or dreamed of playing that well, yet somehow there where some who blamed the loss on him.

Flat earthers. People that dumb can't be reasoned with.

I have never really considered the Denver game as one if his chokes. I can give him the benefit of the doubt for that game because there are plenty more games that the choking is obvious . The majority of posters on this board are Romo lovers. What they fail to see is that they are in a very small minority that feels like Romo is not a choker, has leadership skills and is an elite QB. I am sorry, but everybody other than the Romo lovers are not dumb. Football fans, the media and other NFL players are not all wrong. I don't buy the thought that everybody is anti-Cowboys either because they don't like Romo. Romo is consider elite by just a few of the hardcore Cowboys fans. Emotions plays a big part in the way these fans judge Romo. I have always said that Romo offers the best chance of winning. The options are limited. It is Romo , Orton or Weeden. I will feel safe in saying that Romo is the best of those three. I have also said that Romo is a good QB, but he has some major flaws. For some reason, I was labeled a hater because of that opinion. I have embraced the hater label , but it hasn't changed my opinion one way or the other. Romo has choked in some games. I don't see how anybody can deny it. He has won some games too.

How can anyone quantify ratio of members who like or dislike Romo? An overwhelming number of members do not comment either way about him.

I posted this before but clutch is about what you do in your moment. Your moment is when it's do or die, and the outcome depends on what you do at that particular time. I've seen these moments play out and the great ones have cemented their legacies by coming thru in these times. Magic's sky hook against the Celtics in the Garden and Jordans jumper against Georgetown and later against the Jazz are examples of greats cementing their legacies.

Other examples are Big Ben leading his team on a super bowl winning drive, Porter pick six to secure the sb victory for the Saints, and Eli's pass to the left sideline. These players made plays when their teams season was on the line and might not be great players but the picked the right to be great. No matter what anyone says they can't take that moment away from them and thoses moments are a part of their legacy.

Romo has had these moment but hasn't stepped up in them for whatever reason, in the win or go home games he's not performed up to his normal regular season standards.
Until he performs well in elimination games or comes thru in the moment he will probably be the brunt of jokes.

The best thing that I've heard this offseason was from Will McClay "we need players that won't pee their pants when the pressures on".

if you must define clutch as "do or die" why only apply it to romo? there have been MANY times he's given us the lead late in the game but the defense was certainly far from "clutch". it's as if our defense simply refused to keep any form of lead romo could give them and it always put romo in a bad spot, having to be "clutch" again with far less time and far less chance of success.

romo has gotten us there. our defense just quickly gave it back.

he'd have even better stats if our defense quit giving back the lead late in the game.

Well hopefully now with a super duper O-line we can maintain longer times of possession and keep the D off the field more than the past few seasons and consistently put up points against stronger teams..

I guess that I should have said active, posting members, not that it makes any difference. Romo is popular with the CZ posters for the most part. I know many Cowboy fans that have never posted on any Cowboys forum . Romo is not popular with many of the fans that I know. He is not popular with anybody other than the hardcore fans that tend to identify themselves as homers.

I've been a member or moderator on this site for a number of years. In my estimation of observing actively made posts, the ratio of pro-Romo to anti-Romo members runs about even, with members having a balance view of him making up the rest. Just my guess with no scientific basis to support it.

It only counts for negative stuff. But throwing a 4th down end of game, game winning touchdown in a win or go home situation like the very last pass he through....well that doesn't count as clutch.

I think it's about 80-20 pro Romo...maybe more.
It's just the anti Romo crowd are very animated about it.

Total dbag response...only remembers the bad...even if it was 2 seasons ago, vs what just happened.
No clue.

Massive, massive dbag response,
No surprise.
