I don't expect our pass rush to have a dramatic turnaround, but I wouldn't judge based on the Green Bay game.

It was apparent that the gameplan was to rush 3 or 4 and do a lot of ‘mush rush’ against Rodgers. So you’re getting a lot of 5 and 6 blocking against 3 or 4 or 5 blocking against 4, but the 4 are trying to maintain their lanes and bat down some passes.

It was obvious to me that Marinelli wanted to keep Rodgers in the pocket and force him to throw and anticipate instead of him scrambling and creating broken plays and WR’s springing open.

The pass rush was really good against the Bengals and we tried to rush Dalton. I also started to see some life out of Tyrone Crawford in the Packers game. It will be interesting to see down the road and probably won’t be able to really tell until the Skins game again.

I think the book on Wentz is to keep him in the pocket. The Browns are lousy, Steelers may not have Roethlisberger and the Ravens aren’t that good. You have to throw blitzes and pressure at Cousins because he can’t consistently make somewhat difficult throws.

Yep, was reading an article from Packers beat writer and he said the book has always been to keep Rodgers in the pocket. He is a big play magnet outside of the pocket and I definitely think to an extent that our lack of a pass rush per se yesterday was playing the tendencies. And......it worked.

Crawford would have had a sack in the game but got absolutely tackled by the OL on his way to Rodgers.

Next few games will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Wake was a good rusher several years back.....but I think his best days may be behind him. I think it is going to be really hard to pry a pass rusher of any worth from a team.

Same problem we had in '14.

Personally, I wouldn't give up a 1st or 2nd just to get a pass rusher -- for two reasons.

1. We obviously lose that draft pick.
2. We would have to end up paying the pass rusher way too much $$. Way more money than if we just use that draft pick on a legit pass rusher.

This is a young team, overall. So amazingly, we have an open window of opportunity again. So I'd rather just be smart and continue building through the draft and not get ourselves in a cap bind again.
You do give up the draft pick, but we're probably going to go after def end anyway in the first round so why not get a proven stud? I think I would do it in a heartbeat

The missing ingrediant is definitely jalapeno peppers.

I dont care if you are from Maine they are not true nachos without the big festive looking green firestarters. Additionly, they contribute to the proper rate of beer consumption.

I just dont see a Super Bowl in the Cowboys future until this issue has been dealt with.

The missing ingredient for us to win the Super Bowl is currently an effective pass rush. We have been getting by without it, but let's all agree we aren't very good at getting to and sacking the QB. It might be the difference between winning the super bowl and an early exit in the playoffs.

What are the chances that Jerry trades for a stud pass rusher to put us over the top? If there was a team like Cleveland, or another bottom dweller that had a stud pass rusher, would you give up a 1st or 2nd round pick to get us over the top, assuming of course that we could sign the player to a longer term deal?

I would be ok, with us waiting and standing pat and trying to manufacture a pass rush with what we have. I was just wondering what you guys think about it.

I dont see this being done during the season. You can blame Jerry for blowing the pass rush thing the last several years. We will also have a very low draft slot. Not going to be easy. It will have to be either a trade or a FA signing. Either way its going to cost a lot of money. Another reason why continuing to pay Romo when you have Dak makes little sense.

The 2006 Indianapolis Colts won a SB while only notching 24 sacks.

The 2009 New Orleans Saints won a SB while getting 35 sacks.

The current Cowboy team is on a pace for 29 sacks.

We're not beating a Belichick/Brady Patriots team without quarterback pressure.

I think we should give a conditional for Cameron Wake...Dolphins will move him and I don't think we need to give a premium pick to get him...I'd do it in a heart beat.

OK, so we're not beating a Belichick/Brady team.

My assumption is that the Patriots will be in the Super Bowl. The Steelers just lost their quarterback and Seimen aint scaring anyone come playoffs. The Bengals are too inconsistent and lack elitism at the quarterback position. The Chiefs will get carved apart by the Patriots. I just don't see anyone challenging them or stopping them from getting to the Super Bowl.

We have the makings of a dynasty . If we can draft an elite pass rusher next year we can be great for the next 5-7 years.

Our young core is already in place.
