The new "Chris Davis" huh?
More of a "poor-mans" Chris Davis.
If Trumbo managed to double his walk-rate (which ain't gonna happen at this point), he'd be a decent player.
He's managed to up his average a little but his power is starting to wane.

No I don't quite "get" that move by the Sox.
He's been a PIA for the Yankees for a long time!
Very good player... not quite HOF IMO, but just below that.
And I thought it was goofy of the Blue Jays to pay $10 mil a season to Happ...
And then it got goofier for Tigers to pay Zimmerman $22 mil a year.
And now $31 mil a season to Price?
I hate Curt Flood.
The Astro's essentially released Chris Carter.
And they traded Hank Conger to the Rays.
Carter will not be hard to replace.
Conger's bat will be, but his defense wasn't great and his ability to stop a running game non-existent.
I am wondering when the Mets will do something...........
Guess I missed this move:
The Mets have signed right-hander Jim Henderson to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.
Henderson, 33, made 111 career relief appearances in the Major Leagues from 2012-14 with the Brewers.

Cleveland is looking at Pedro Alvarez and Chris Carter, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, with the thinking that both would slot in at designated hitter. Alvarez and Carter weren't tendered contracts by the Pirates and Astros, respectively.

The trouble is Carter's splits are equally abysmal...
Vs. LH Avg/OB/Slug .201/.321/.415
Vs. RH Avg/OB/Slug .198/.297/.435
He should fit right in with the Indians then
Well yeah! LOL!
If you can't come up with a better player than Chris Carter... Well.
Maybe Dan Duquette will take a flyer on him if the Indians dont. He's had good luck with getting some production out of castoffs, until this past season. Not a one panned out. He had his own versions of Joe Randle and C Mike etc.
If Carter could damage lefties... well then you have something here!
But when you're equally lousy vs. both... You just throw up your arms.
