My hang up was/is with Betts leading the all star votes for outfield. But it was more of just a passing comment to vent. I’m sorry it created the friction it has, to everyone in this thread.

Betts is still hitting .341 with 19 HRs and 39 RBI and 14 steals on a 1st 2nd place team that sells out every game

He said people only look at stats and I responded that was the same flawed thinking that led to Judge being robbed of the MVP..... by any standard Judge dominated the stats.......stats are baseball

Going to the game tomorrow, folks! Seattle is losing now that they are facing real competition, we’re *only* five back from them now. Angels are saying they are real positive about Ohtani, and sounding like they expect him back sometime this season. With two separate strains (1st and 2nd degree), I find it incredibly unlikely and also foolish. Even if they just want him to hit like is being reported. I don’t like it. We shall see.

No way does Mookie deserve it on stats now. As I said, before injury sure. But he missed too much time and Trout is destroying him in everything but SLG and AVG (he still is hitting homers, but his SLG has dropped from the ridiculous .750 it was before). He has one more stolen base. His SLG should plateau around .650, and that is still magnificent. But Trout is on his own planet on nearly every stat you compare the two to.

That is my exact argument for Judge over Altuve......beats him by 100 on OPS.....stats don't lie

Gonna show up two hours early since this is our first game this year. Need to get my son another Trout pin and his first Ohtani pin (he collects Angels pins) and a good shot at getting a ball from Mike before the horde arrives

I am still bitter over Jeter getting robbed in 2006 vs Mourneau.....that year was the opposite of 2017.....they rewarded HR and RBI over Batting Average and Steals

It just always seems the NYY gets the shaft
