Do you guys think Claiborne would have made a difference in the eagles game? Will Claiborne and Carr be on team next year?

Claiborne i'd be shocked to see go. He's still under contract. I think they want to see how he bounces back after this year of injury. Carr....his salary is gonna have him either getting cut or a pay cut but with his play.......he's probably a goner.

Mo wasn't off to any stellar start to the year, but Carr has been a "car-wreck".

Mo will be here next here.

The smart money says Carr is a "June 1st" cut.

Morris Claiborne has been the biggest bust in the history of the franchise and someone is asking if he would have made a difference against Philly? Apparently the OP hadn't been watching him play the past 3 seasons it's not like Claiborne was shutting down receivers before his season ending injury. Claiborne has spent more time rehabbing an assortment of injuries than practicing and playing in games. As for whether he'll be on the team next season it's not likely based on the fact he'll be spending most of the offseason rehabbing a serious injury and will once again be missing valuable practice time. This latest injury will continue to further stunt his development and the Cowboys will have to handle him with caution all summer.

It's going to be a very tough cut for the team considering they gave up a #2 pick to move up to the 6th overall spot to select him but he continues to disappoint and can't stay healthy. The fact he's still under contract could keep him around another year but it will depend on how his rehab goes. If he's limited in training camp and has to be held out of practices and preseason again I think the Cowboys will move on from him. He's not going to be any help to the team if he can't practice and improve they'll just keep going through the same thing with him. As for Carr he hasn't come close to being worth what the Cowboys paid him and with him being due a lot of money he's gone.

Claiborne's salary is guaranteed for 2015. He'll be on the team.

No, he is unlikely to have made a difference in this game.

Can he be a good 3rd CB next season? Maybe.

I expect Carr to be cut. His 2015 salary is 8M. They can replace him with a better and lower cost free agent, IMO.

If Morris Claiborne avoided getting hurt and managed to find some confidence this season, he could've helped the defense.

But Claiborne has suffered one injury after another before and after getting drafted, so I have no reason to believe he'd be healthy and playing with confidence right now even if he didn't suffer the major knee injury.

There's no reason not to give Claiborne another chance.

He's under contract and possesses the most natural talent in the secondary.

Brandon Carr will be released as a June designation to spread the dead money hit over the next two seasons.

I'd like to add a veteran free agent on a one or two year deal and then look to draft a player at the position.

I wonder about the realistic possibilities for free agent CBs.

Move Mo Claiborne to FS. A lot of people thought that was gonna be his best position in the pros anyway. Try and salvage the draft choice. Because we have already seen he can't play CB.

I disagree. Garrett has been the biggest bust in franchise history.

HIs first 3 seasons and his latest injury which is a severe one gives you plenty of reasons not to waste another year on him. From what's been reported a ruptured patellar tendon is worse than a torn ACL. He showed up to his very first practice with an injury. His future with the team next season is going to come down to how soon he can get back to practicing. If he's not ready for camp and keeps missing valuable practice time he's going to continue being a liability on the field. I feel he's going to have to show something next summer in practice and during preseason or the Cowboys won't waste a roster spot on him.

I disagree. Garrett has been the biggest bust in franchise history.

The Cowboys didn't trade a #2 draft pick to move up to the 6th overall selection for Garrett. There were no high expectations with him due to a great collage career. Jerry doesn't have to hang onto Garrett due to a guaranteed contract that counts against the teams salary cap. Regardless who Jerry hires as a HC he calls all the shots anyway. Nothing sets a franchise back more than a top 10 pick going bust. You can dump a HC after one or two years you can't do that with a top 10 pick without facing cap ramifications.

Nope. Claiborne can't be coached up by this staff. He needs to cut or beaten down and learn to fight. I hoped he would be special..but he just plain ole "special"
