Meant to say Patmon. Those 3 are our best bet to start next year. I doubt no one in FA can actually help this team, maybe a Revis. But then our hopes would be too great for him. Our best bet is to fix the dline.

I think there will be several options in free agency that would be better than Carr and most would probably be less expensive.

Well I bring up pay cut because i'm not sure if it would give the Cowboys more money in the long run to give him a pay cut or just out right cut him and have it eat up your salary next season. But I don't know how much it will cost against the cap to do either.

As the other post indicated, Claiborne's salary is guaranteed for 2015 at 2.5M. There would be no benefit to cutting him and it's doubtful that any other team would take him and that salary.

I would be extremely cautious with him. Could suffer from the Alvin Harper/Larry Brown disease once he leaves a good team for a big payday.

He is a player I would do my HW on. He's young but you're right that could happen as well. But just looking over the list he is a player I would want to look at

No, he is unlikely to have made a difference in this game.

Can he be a good 3rd CB next season? Maybe.

I expect Carr to be cut. His 2015 salary is 8M. They can replace him with a better and lower cost free agent, IMO.

Carr is horrible. I hope there is a good f/agent on market next year.

The Cowboys didn't trade a #2 draft pick to move up to the 6th overall selection for Garrett. There were no high expectations with him due to a great collage career. Jerry doesn't have to hang onto Garrett due to a guaranteed contract that counts against the teams salary cap. Regardless who Jerry hires as a HC he calls all the shots anyway. Nothing sets a franchise back more than a top 10 pick going bust. You can dump a HC after one or two years you can't do that with a top 10 pick without facing cap ramifications.

We've spent 8+ years plus of making all sorts of changes and excuses to shelter this guy. We've also seriously threatened the career of Tony Romo with this high-risk vertical offense that can't block or adjust to a blitz, as well as seeing his best years go bye-bye. We've been waffling receivers in and out to excuse this guy, flipping from a 3-4 to 4-3, switching defensive coordinators, losing time because Garrett didn't want Dan Reeves to baby-sit him originally and on and on..

I dont think our need is at corner I believe its better Dline play. If I would make a move in the secondary it would be safety.

I was talking about Brandon Carr. Claiborne isn't going anywhere for the sheer fact they are going to give him every opportunity to show he was worth that draft selection.

Could they manage with Carr and a better pass rush? Probaby. Can they get more for Carr's 8M salary. I think definitely yes.

Do you guys think Claiborne would have made a difference in the eagles game? Will Claiborne and Carr be on team next year?

Claib would not make difference. He's not physical enough to play in this league and if he gets physical, he gets hurt. Claib will be on the team and about as effective as Carr has been this year. Carr is gone next year. We be drafting or FA a CB or 2 next year.

I think most people are in agreement to cut Carr but they do need a plan to replace him.
