This was probably a done deal. A lateral move to a basement dwelling team. Let his *** walk. I want someone young and creative anyway.

Even if it was DC, you would hope the man would have enough class not to spit in the puddle. Just seems like a very odd time for an announcement like that to me. Whichever the case may be, if he does go, I hope his replacement is everything you are saying, and more.

He did make this unit respectable, but if he has no loyalty then let him go. I was surprised that we did nothing to attack Rodgers today up the middle. I don't know who the next guy will be, but the interior of this dline and some of the LBs have talent. The secondary and DEs should be backups. We do need talent, but a creative coordinator would be huge.

I could live with Eberflus as the DC. If Lindhan leaves I'd like to get someone who can add more horizontal offense to the mix.

As an aside not sure why we stopped with the stick and wheel routes.

All the people saying they would not miss Marinelli are the same ones who said Broaddus did not know what he was talking about a few days ago.

Dont worry, I hear Monte Kiffin is available.

Kiffin is still on the team. He goes to all of the practices and the games. Dissing Kiffin and not crediting him for this season is a lack of understanding the defense coaching staff.

A real D coordinator would have blitzed Rodgers until his leg snapped in half.

Dude could barely move, and we rush 4 all game.

How quickly people turn on the great Rod Marinelli.

I just hope we can maintain this high level of play on defense when he's gone and I'll always remember the two years he was here that produced the worst defenses I've ever seen with this team. Special coach.

ON talkin cowboys they talked alot early in the yr about the players spending the most time with their posistion coaches. Getting to know their assignments. Thats the success. Marinelli walked around and pepped them up. With what Eberflus did with this LBer core this yr im more then anxious to see him in charge.

I liked Rod here. I'm curious as to why he wants to leave. I think he tried with what he had today against Green Bay. We blitzed a ton with Rob Ryan and it didn't get us anywhere.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a younger D-Coordinator. And there's no reason why we can't continue to find good coaches. He's not the only fish in the pond. But at his age and if he wants to go, I'm inclined to see Jerry try and make a fair offer and if he turns it down...let's look for a new, younger D-Coordinator.

Did you like, watch the last seasons ?

I did.

We had a ridiculous amount of injuries. Last year we basically had a semi-pro D-Line due to the injuries. This year we had to shuffle around LB's.

We also had 2 cornerbacks (Claiborne and Carr) that don't fit the scheme because they were picked up by a different D-Coordinator.

We then got rid of the best defensive end in our team's history and his replacement was a rookie that missed most of the season...due to injury.

I think it could have been better, but there were far more reasons as to why it wasn't better than blaming Marinelli and Kiffin.

Losing him would be tough but this is the nature of the NFL, players and coaches come and they go. I think Garrett has earned the trust to put his staff together.

Yea, his defensive game plan against Rogers was laughable.............rush 3 guys against a hobbled QB, brilliant strategy.

And rush 3 nose tackles? I'm pretty sure there were a few times he had Brent and Hayden @ DE...and Bishop rushing @ the NT

What kind of rush you gonna generate with that?

I don't mean no harm. Rod did good with what he had but why the heck didn't Crawford play more or why don't we put a DE at DT in obvious rush situations? It was multiple times I see brent and hayden and bishop combo at DT rushing Rodgers. I mean I see why he had so much time. Was Crawford injured? we needed him to play almost the whole game with out injuries there. We gave Rodgers too much time after half time to just pick out defense apart. I mean we was asking him to just pick us apart. Or the multiple times we had our DT playing freaking pass coverage. smh. And don't get me started on spencer. He was absolute garbage today. I rather Lawrence or selvie took his sport today.

We need a good DE in he draft or FA.
