I must be making this sound like she's perpetually screwing up. She's not like that. She's just so in love with this guy that he's the most important thing to her. Sadly, I'm not even a distant 10th most important to her. Therein lies my issue. I hope someday she places more importance in our relationship, but she's 22, so I don't see it changing from her perspective.

No offense to anyone here, but I've already talked about this more than I meant to, so let's change the subject, shall we?
Hey bud, you know you can always count on me to change the subject.

Much appreciated. I've seriously been toying with the idea of moving to Texas for years, but a got a sweet gig for now.
The Buffalo area isn't and has never been my thing. Spent some time in Florida and I'm sold. I love the heat and sun. Cold, cloudy and snow? No bueno.
I was only there once and knew it wasn't for me. But I did make it to the Anchor Bar and like to share that with strangers I see eating wings in restaurants. They seem fascinated by the story as they just sit there, staring at me with their mouths hanging open. I call that the Eli look.

Oh, you mean actual Buffalo wings? Yeah, it's interesting to visit other States that advertise "Buffalo Wings" and they hand you a plate of mini drummets, lol.
And it's bleu cheese NOT Ranch!!! Very important.

CC, we have a popular sandwich called "Beef on Weck." I haven't had it anywhere else that was palatable.

I would give all of that up for some damn heat and sunshine.....

Good Morning Pops and those engaging in "As the Niece Turns" with Runny. I know he wants to change the subject but being the Grand Poobah carries the responsibility of not obeying an order so I have one more thing to add.

Young people are myopic about life and their world revolves around them and I was just as guilty of that as any of them. Anyone had good advice for me and showed me how much they cared? My reaction was dependent on their advice vs what the hell I wanted to do. I think most of y'all know which way I went.

As tough as it is, the best thing to do is just continue to show the love, even in this case when it's not returned in kind, and just wait for the light to go on.

There's just some places that can't be duplicated with their originals like NY pizza and bagels and Philly cheesesteaks. I have tried to re-create my favorite sandwich of all time, the Muffaletta and been unsuccessful even when ordering the olive mix and bread from New Orleans.

I used to work with a guy from Buffalo that was friends with the owner of the Anchor and he and two people from my company opened the first sanctioned wing joint outside of Buffalo called "Wings n Things" on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. The first time I tasted them, they tasted just like the original and I got the recipe for the simple sauce and began cooking them as an appetizer when he had parties and ended up just cooking that because our friends didn't want anything else, just more wings. This was in 1980 and unfortunately, people didn't know what the hell to do with wings and it folded in less than a year. If their timing had been right, they could have a huge chain of those restaurants now.

When I was younger, I was never a fan but I do like it now. I make my own with fresh, crumbled bleu cheese. On occasion, I'll add it on a nice fat steak.

But Ranch? Well Ranch is for veggies, IMO.
Oh yeah and when that steak is amply peppered that blue cheese is mighty fine. I make a paste of half bleu and butter and toss some chopped chives in there, fiiiiiinnnnnne eatin'.

I can't leave pizza alone long enough to have it for breakfast....though a nice jalapeno, pepperoni, and sausage slice would be a great breakfast! I haven't had one of those since before my surgery in December. I can't wait to start working again, so I can get some of that! (The only pizza place that does it right is a mile from the lumberyard.)

No Hump Day, last week was a Double Hump Day because you can't have a Hump Day in a 4 day work week. It's in the Constitution.
