Evening (or morning depending on your geographical status) Pops and everyone. Fifteen and a half hours at work today. Hope everyone had a great Wednesday and that you cruise right through the rest of the week. For me, I'm too tired to fight anymore this week so I either survive it or I get bowled over.

Leon, I tried to live by your little saying, but they have indeed beaten me down. I'm going into these next two days pulling myself through on my elbows and dragging my feet behind. Rough couple of weeks. It's gotta get better.

Have a great rest of your week, all.
I hope there is a positive to focus on such as the overtime pay edges you farther toward you goal of moving to a new place. I'm sorry you're going through that.

Morning Pops!

Almost Friday, which may not seem like something I should be excited about, since I haven't worked since early December - but I go to the doctor tomorrow, and I'm hoping he lifts enough of the restrictions for me to go back to work on Monday. It's not so much that I'm looking forward to work, but disability pay is garbage, and I'd really like to not have to deal with the insurance company anymore. People who like to do everything the hard way piss me off.

For instance, I went to the bank on April 25th to get some cash, but my ATM card wasn't working, so I went inside to make a withdrawal. Two weeks go by, and the money still hasn't been deducted from my checking account, so I go back to the bank and tell the same teller that I think she took the money from someone else's account. She does a search and tells me that the money came from my home equity line of credit. (I didn't know tellers even had access to that account.) I gave her the $200 back to put back in my HELoC and leave. A few days ago I get the statement for the upcoming loan payment and realize that rather than put the money back in as if it never happened, she put the money toward that month's payment. So now my checkbook is off, and my monthly payment is $1.51 a month more, which doesn't sound like much, but over the course of the next 4 years, that's $66 more than I should be paying.

So I e-mail the bank about the issue, and a couple days later I get a reply apologizing for the mistake, and a "Loan Department" phone number to call. I call that number and get the most aggravating automated service I've ever dealt with. (Getting so frustrated, that at one point I threw my phone across the room.) After finally reaching a human being, and another 25 minutes of talk-hold-talk-hold-talk-hold....She agreed that I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake...but she can't fix the problem yet.

I pointed out that if she takes the money from my payment and reapplies it to my balance, I'll end up with a late fee. She realizes I'm right, but she has to wait until I actually incur the late fee, before she can dismiss it, rather than just flag it and prevent it from happening. There's more to the story that I have yet to discover as the world turns. Stay tuned.
Bureaucracies can be maddening whether corporate or governments. People we have no control over make decisions and rules that affect critical aspects of our lives. Hopefully, this gets worked out in you favor sooner than later.

Morning, pops and pen pals. TGIf for the un-retired and TGFG for me. . I planted some green and some yellow squash and red bell pepper yesterday just for fun. We'll see if the deer eat the plants. Other than that there's nothing new here so I'll just wish everyone a happy Friday. Today is a good day to have a good day. Make it happen.

I bet if you put a mouse trap at the top of one of those plants, that'll keep the deer away.

After six months of disability pay...YES, congratulations are in order. ;)
Well, hate to say I told ya so but I told ya so!! Now Jan needs top cooperate and get out of her funk and I am 2 fer 2. Annnnnnnd if she doesn't I will hold her responsible for not being 100%.

By golly, if a card carrying pessimist makes optimistic predictions, everyone better cooperate. Your doc did his part. Really happy for you, I know this was jacking with you.

It was getting really old, CC. Before I got the surgery, I was expecting two, maybe three months. But at least I didn't have to drive in the snow!

Afternoon Pops and friends.

Back to work on Monday!!!
Fresh stories on Tuesday! :omg:   :banghead: Congratulations are still in order.

Today I decided to use up some of the things I've had in my garage so I no longer have to make space for them. A lot of manure has been spread with half a bag left to go. I had a sudden hankering to run for office. Got to get rid of that manure! I'm watering my plants to let them know I did it on purpose. I bought some concrete ten years ago and don't remember what I bought it for. I'll think of something. Should I put the mulch on top of the weeds and hope they take the hint? I finished pressure washing my driveway yesterday, so I can celebrate a half way well done job. It's just brighter than the rest, so waiting to see if the Griswold's pick up the gauntlet. I've still got a lot of manure left to spread so have a good Friday everyone. That goes double for you, Jan!

Afternoon Pops and friends. My whole family went out of town for a graduation. I stayed home so my mother will have to put up with my cooking. She didn’t complain about the scrambled eggs this morning. She eats small meals but loves fruit. Lots of fruit. It’s no secret that she’s 93 and fairly healthy.
I got up early this morning and did my 3 miles. The temp was 78 and humidity was 91%. Talk about sweating.
Xelda, I’m going to check my garage. I think there’s a bag of cement in there somewhere. I have a lot of junk to throw away.
Runny, good to see you back in the workforce. Maybe the stock market will jump up a little.
Have a good weekend friends.

Hey RGV, your momma is in good hands. Does 78º with 91% humidity = 91º with 78 humidity? I prefer to run when I see grizzly bears but to each his own and you deserve credit for braving the heat.

I didn't address Street's recent surgery. Bless your heart! Did your dentist tell you to gargle with warm salt water? That's my momma's cure for EVERYTHING! It actually does some good with mouth traumas such as the one you incurred. If we'd known about your new wisdom teeth, we would have asked you a ton of questions before you got them yanked. Just rest now and think about all the stuff you can't eat. Let us know what you're craving and we'll dine in your honor. Coach is the official imbiber, so let him know your drink orders.

Hey Xelda, I don’t know all that weather jargon but I do know the higher the humidity, the more likely to sweat. There’s no grizzlies around here but there are warning signs to look out for alligators, snakes and wild hogs. I’ve seen them all but at a distance. The most common snakes I see are copperheads, water moccasins, Corral and grass snakes. So you’re always on the look out. If you see what looks like a stick ahead in your path, it’s most likely a snake.
