There was an adorable story about this dog and his favorite toy. The toy was accidentally ripped and dad came to the rescue with emergency surgery.

If we get our Yorkie a stuffed toy or anything with a squeaker in it she doesn't stop until she has everything out of it. Then she plays with the resulting rag or rubber remains. Usually takes less than an hour to demolish it.

Happy Saturday Pops and friends. I'm in full blown Coach mode. I know what needs to be done and I'm avoiding it. I figured out what to do with my concrete, but now I need more concrete. Have a good weekend everyone.

I had a rat terrier like that. I'd show her the toy and she'd half heartedly glance at it. Drop it on the floor, it gets a single sniff. Pick it up and squeak it, her eyes would glaze over and her life had one purpose - kill the squeaker!

I'm trying. Booked a flight for October to go back to Virginia Beach, so there's that. Probably my last visit for a while as I really need to buckle down on my savings. Either that or I need a serious winning lottery ticket. I'm on this journey alone and it's harder than I thought it would be.
Glad you're not in Virginia Beach this weekend.

Yeah. Brutal. My heart goes out to everyone affected. I know it's obvious to say, but it's so so sad. Since my daughter has a connection to the military through the kid's dad and her new beau there's automatic alerts that go out that she can then "check in" on to say they are all okay. It's an unpredictable world for sure.

So proud of you. But you still have a little ways to go to hit full on Coach mode. Having a cocktail and cigar and thinking "what should I be doing?' and then smiling knowing I am not only relaxing but not doing what I should be doing and not even procrastinating and lying to myself that I will ever do it.

I did go to Austin today for mu grandsons' first swim meet of the year and it was wetter in the air than in the pool. I don't think humidity can go beyond 100% but it was terrible. Hope this isn't a sign of what's yet to come.

But I did stop by Costco and spent time in the refrigerated produce section until I felt like I was loitering because of how this Costco guy was looking at me. I should have told him that I was trying to ascertain how many romaine leaves were in the package to figure out the cost per leaf but didn't think he deserved that so I left and went to the dairy/egg section and hid out.

Teach us Obi Wan Coach-obi. Other wise, we're gonna mess up.

Morning, Pops and peanuts characters (I guess I'm Pig Pen because of my gardening and wandering through the underbrush looking for my golf ball). It's a good thing I spread my weed and feed yesterday as we've got thunder showers this morning and for most of the next week. Have a blessed day

Morning Pops.

Sunday morning, and I start work again tomorrow......I need a vacation.
Ahhh yes. The reality sets in. That Sunday morning dread. Counting down the hours to the alarm screaming in your ear. I remember wanting to go back to disability and trying to find ways to simplify my living so I wouldn't have to keep working. No such luck, and in my situation, without a second income, retirement is never a possibility.

You need a reliable retirement plan like mine. I play Lotto twice a week, so I'm bound to be rich within the next ten years.

Morning Pops and everyone. The sun came out in earnest this morning. Actually made me mad because it was just too bright. Expecting another crest on the river today but not as high as the last one. Got some tidying up to do in this tiny apartment, and maybe I'll go out to the parking ramp and clean my car today since I have no yard to work on...

Good luck all with your projects and adventures today.

Ironically lottery tickets are on my agenda today, and I don't usually play. I selfishly think I'm due for a change in circumstances. My 401k for retirement won't cut it, and don't get me started on the lazy people ripping off the social security system and using up what I paid in.

I get it. My 401k is seriously lacking. I'd be in much better shape, had I not lost more than half of it in the recession, years ago.

OMG! Same thing happened to me. Now I gain to a point and then dump the gain into something safe, which means I'm not earning as much but it's safer. I'm already scared I'm going to end up living in my car or on the street (slight exaggeration), but I literally lay awake at night worrying about this kind of thing. I keep asking one of my friends at work (our bookkeeper) to have her husband find me someone where he works (it's a local nuclear power plant). They have great pensions. I really don't think I can do this on my own. One of the reasons I'm considering selling all my stuff and moving to VA after Mom is gone...
