Evening Pops and everyone.

So... let me preface the following revelation by stating I am not tech-savvy at all. I don't yet have my internet or cable service installed at the house. I was working from home for part of the day yesterday and since I don't have internet had to use my phone to try to pull up a mapping service to search some information on the County's website. Anywaaaay... I was talking with someone at work today about what a pain that was and she said "your daughter got you that iPhone. Use it as a hotspot". Mind blown :omg:. Had no idea I could do that. Sure enough, I got home after work today and went on my computer to figure it out. As I type this I am using my iPhone as a hotspot for my laptop. Did you all know this and didn't tell me:angry:?

Let's try this... if any of you knows any nifty tricks like this that maybe I should know, how 'bout give me a clue.

Just proves you don't know what you don't know.

Good morning Pops and Popsadoodles. My dream last night had me captured by the ***** and no I wasn't watching Hogan's Heroes. It was unsettling as I watched daddy go to their camp and surrender. I was fretting and then momma decided to follow him. I'm looking at being an orphan here so I start scheming with others how to take their base back which we were way outnumbered. We didn't have weapons per se except what was in our pockets. It ended with loud jets flying over head from Barksdale. (Those were real.)

I didn't know that either. I've got a smart phone but all the Apple updates have made it stupid. The last one I allowed made sure the battery drains faster. I pumped it with enough apps to block automatic downloads.

The temperature dropped to 69 yesterday. I might have to buy some fall clothes with this kind of craziness. We normally go from summer to winter clothes and mix the two for our two weeks of spring.

Have a good Winds Day everyone.

Afternoon Pops. Afternoon Fellas and good afternoon to all who decided to stop in today and visit this thread.

So........... What's everybody up to today? I've been pretty busy these few days, not sure if I mentioned or not but my youngest boy managed to break his leg over the weekend and so we've been carting him back and forth to the Hospital for XRays, MRI's and evaluations etc.

Seattle this coming weekend, that means my Brother-in-law will be over. He is a Seahaggs fan so I'm sure he will be in rare form.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, hope you are all doing well. Leon, talk to me about cool sea breezes off the water. I think I would like to hear about that right about now. I would give real money to be at Palaoa Point, snorkeling Kaunolu Bay and just having the breeze just blowing easy. That sounds so nice to me Leon. Do you miss it at all?

Everybody, weekend is here. Keep it coming people!

Peace.....

Ahhhhhhh, Bossier City, a mere 54 years and 4 days ago, the scene of my 18th birthday and the legal drinking age at that time in the Party State. I wish I could say I remember it well.

Louisiana was one of the states with the drinking age under 21 and from my experience the only difference between an 18 year old and a 21 year old is capacity. When the feds mandated a 21 year age minimum or lose your highway funding and Interstate support, LA actually commissioned a study to ascertain the monetary difference between the funds and 18-20 money spent in the state and I can tell you, Bossier City depended on that and was second only to N'Awlins in that kind of revenue. It was like year round spring break with the 18 year old's just from AR, OK and TX as well as the LA ones. They decided it would be bad form as they'd opposed the feds on just about everything and regretted joining in the first place.

Study your LA history and you will discover they agreed to join the Union after the President agreed to do something about the mosquitoes in 1812. He reneged and they seceded in 1861 under the guise of failed promises. There actually wasn't anything that could do about the mosquitoes back then except allow those bitten to be Americans. I have actually been to some Parishes in Southern LA that are unaware they ever joined in the first place.

Xelda, dear, tell me, is Ernest's still in business in Shreveport? One of my few noteworthy accomplishments back then was procuring their recipe for marinated crab claws through a friend that knew them well. Had I scored the Mohawk Tavern's, Monroe, recipe for Shrimp Delight, there would be statues of me. They did a spin on remoulade that was a plate of wonderment and a must have when I traveled that area.

I still make those crab claws and they published the recipe some time back. I think it was in a River Roads cookbook.

I was wondering what body part they had you captured by, then I realized the censored word was in reference to the German Army.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who stopped in to visit today.

Honest question, what would we all do without this thread? I wonder sometimes. I mean, I don't post every single day but I usually, at least, read the posts. It just makes me feel better.

So, something interesting the other day. My Wife cooked dinner, Green Chile Enchiladas, and I come in from the Garage. It's maybe 8 and I see my Wife sitting, eating a bowl of Salad and not a Salad bowl, a big bowl. So I ask here, what are you doing? She looks up at me with this straight up dirty look, and doesn't say anything. I ask here again. She finally says to me, "The Enchiladas came out terrible! Dry, dry, dry, so I'm eating Salad for dinner." Now, my Wife almost never makes anything that is not top shelf. So occasionally she might throw a wild pitch and I guess this is one of those times. I'm not a big fan of Green Chile Enchiladas but even so, they are usually really, really good. Everybody likes them so, I was surprised. Last night, I'm watching the Yanks/Jays debacle and she walks up with 4 containers, in her arms all the way to her chin. I ask her, whatcha got there? She say, "The Enchiladas", she informs me that she is taking them over to our youngest Son, who has a broken leg and has no choice but to eat them. LOL......... I guess that'll learn him to bust his leg!

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, I hope you are all doing well today. Does anybody have a good story to tell? I feel like listening to a funny story or two.

Everybody, keep up the good fight! It's Thursday and closer to the end of the day then the beginning so you know what that means...... Friday is almost upon us!

Gonna leave you with this little tune for a Thursday Afternoon. This is one of the greatest Singer Song Writers I've ever seen or heard. This is Jim Croce - I've Got A Name
