Good morning Pops from the great state on Montana. This is our fifth week in Montana and it has snowed every single weekend. My wife and I are bit OCD and it typically manifests itself in our meticulous planning. Everything about retirement, the home in Colorado, the move to Montana was organized and planned in minute detailed. So, imagine my surprise and (OCD) discomfort when we suddenly, and without any plan whatsoever, decided to consider buying a home rather than building. With the price of building material skyrocketing, we can probably buy a home for far less than we can build. We found a great log "cabin" in the Blackfoot National Forest. Pretty remote, but stunning. I was all in until I took a look in the garage/workshop... The current owner has a "snowcat", a tractor-like vehicle with tank treads instead of wheels. I asked the agent, do you have to use the snowcat that much? "Nah, just December through March". Maybe more snow than even I like.
