We just returned late last night from 2 weeks in Europe to 6-8 inches of snow on the ground (thankfully, our neighbors plowed our driveway) and about 20 F.

Our cats greeted us at the front door with sarcastic looks that said, "Oh, it's you... I'm hungry"

We had a great time - spent 3 days in and around Munich, followed by a 7 day Rhine cruise and ended with 3 days in Amsterdam.

A few quick observations:

The Rhine river and, in particular, the Rhingau is stunningly beautiful. The area around Neuschwanstein castle is magical.

Everywhere we went, everyone was talking about climate change... even predicting southern Sweden could become a future wine growing region.

I loved the efficiency and convenience of public transportation.

Man, aged Dutch cheeses are good.

Finally, despite all my positive thoughts, I see you were unable to "will" a win against the Packers.

I'm back too but I didn't go too far. Just to the neighboring town to take down an unflattering photo at the post office.

My dogs advertised for a new owner while I was gone.

A counterpoint to your increased flatulence supporters: there is a strong green movement in the Netherlands for the government to "buy-out" cattle farmers in an effort to decrease spurious methane emissions... I kid you not!
