It's cloudy here but warm. Looks as if we may get a decent day on Easter. I hope all are home, for those who are not, I hope it is an enjoyable day for you or as enjoyable as possible.

Lots of eggs to be hidden and found for the little ones and lots of enjoyment for us over the hill folks who enjoy watching the fun.

Good morning, Cbz and fellow Zoners. It's been a tough Easter for me. My dog has been quite ill and we had to Euthanize her on Tuesday. I knew I'd feel sad, but frankly, it's been really bad. I cannot believe how much I miss her. I know it will get better, but getting there is hard. Take care, folks

Dang, Phil. My heart goes out to you and the family. Losing a pet is almost like losing a child to the owner. So your grief is more than understandable. It's probably going to take some time and that's normal. You might try talking to her. It may be difficult for awhile but eventually it won't be as emotional. I talk to my mother all the time as she asked. It's been three years and its finally better but not gone. My thoughts are with you.

Phil sorry to hear about your dog.
 
Good morning, Cbz and good morning, Zoners. Thanks for the kind words. It does feel like I've lost a child, as she was dependent on us and was the source of affection and attention every (and I mean every) time I got home. Our decision was the right one, as she was not well, and I'm okay with what we did. She's been cremated and I plan to have a spot for her remains at home so that I can talk to her and keep her memory close.

We will get another dog, but we'll wait awhile before we do that. I think it would not be fair for a new dog to be brought in to be compared with our old one. My wife also needs time to grieve in her own way.
The good news is that we know we can be good dog owners and that any animal we have will get the love and respect they deserve.

I'm sorry to hear this Phil. I know how hard it is losing a beloved pet. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just know that you gave her a good life and have no regrets.
