Long weekend coming up in celebration of our Countries Independence. I hope everybody enjoys it. Weather on the East Coast is troublesome so for those of you who are effected, be safe and stay out of the rain!

Morning Pops. Howdy gang. Went to one of our Army bases for the show and fireworks yesterday. The Army band came on and shortly afterwards played the National Anthem. Many just sat there as I got to my feet and put my hand over my heart. It was a very sad moment for me. The fireworks were wonderful as was the band that played 60s music.

Morning Pops, Jobb, Leon, Barney Brit, and fellow survivors of the weekend. Know what you mean, Jobb, about the sad feeling for the disrespect shown during the anthem.There are those who have so much because of the greatness of this country, yet give so little thanks!

Morning Pops and all. His Dad can buy him one. I'm sick of my cars and I'm getting them ready to sell. Got to see the newest grandchild today and tomorrow but when I get back I have to put the new tranny in and finish the car. Still a lot to do. Had to send one set of new wheels back and now I'm stuck with the redline tires. Put new set of wheels and tires on last week. Now got to put the Air in and finish up the interior as well. Never again.

I really am thru with cars....at least for awhile. No more race cars, drag cars, muscle cars, or other critters of a like nature. Although I saw a2008 but brand new Mustang Drag car FR500C the other day. They only wanted 80k for it. I'm buying a older but like new truck and giving my 76 Cheyenne to one of the boys and then get an older like new Prius or the like.

A very belated Happy Independence Day to all of my American friends. I've been out of circulation, and am puzzled by the ambivalence regarding your national anthem. I cannot recall a time where I've been present during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner where people did not stand up, regardless of the nature of the event. The fact that it was on a military base is really surprising. I was playing at an event in which six different national anthems were played at various times last year and noticed that people were quite happy to stand up for all of the anthems. I suspect that your event was an anomaly.

Morning, Pops and everyone. My daughter in Missouri had a close call last night. They live next to the Osage River and there are a lot of huge cottonwood trees there. One fell on their house last night. Thank God all four of them are okay. They took the baby to the emergency room because ceiling tiles fell on his head, but he checked out okay. The 6 year old sleeps at the other end of the house where the tree stood, but somehow was not injured. They had to crawl out a window to get out of the house because both the front and back doors were blocked. Again, I give thanks to God they all survived.
