Leon, they gave it all they had. Just don't have enough talent on the team and the HC is going to learn about how hard it is to recruit against the SEC West. They moved to the SEC for one thing, money and I hope it was worth it because they gave up a pretty good football program and recruiting ground in Texas.

They caught A&M down after playing the 1 and 2 teams in the country out of their first 4 games but I think Jimbo Fishe has a much better chance of building something special than Chad Morris. And the Hogs are not going to attract a high profile HC/Recruiter. In that regard, the fans are reduced to what Cowboys fans are all about now, it's not about the season as much as individual games. We're down to hoping we can play spoiler in the East. and the Hogs can pull off a surprise win.

Morning Pops and those still holding onto hope that this team can right the ship and that starts today. A win and hope is renewed, a loss and this is the Titanic and we'll have to endure "let's tank the season" threads out in gen pop. The shame of this is that it doesn't have to be this way.

Happy we won yesterday, and somewhat glad I could only see what Red Zone was showing. As it was, I was getting kinda stressed and yelling at the officials, as though they could hear me.

I know how this can be a lift for some people as when I was in Baton Rouge, I could tell by my sales the next week if the Tigers had won or not. While it does not affect me, I am glad that hope came back at least for another week. I am also glad the Earl Thomas stuff is over.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to any who might decide to stop in and visit this thread today.

Before I forget again, Jobs, you made a post the other day, a kind of reminder about what this thread is about and I thank you for that. I love that this thread has brought in new people and good people, from what I can tell, BTW. I love that because I know that Pops would have loved that as well. But still, it's always good to have somebody who gives us a little reminder about what's important. So thank you for that my friend!

I hope everybody had a great weekend. Finally was able to have the Boil and it went well. Probably 20 people or so, just friends and some family who know Chris and it worked out well. Weather was great, temps were great, Food was awesome! Shrimp, Lobster, Crawdads, Andouille Sausage, Potatoes, Vidalia Onions, Corn on the Cobb and the right amount of seasonings , throw it all in a 50 Gallon pot and stick over a flame. Came out great! Had Red Beans and Rice and Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Wife made Apple Cobbler this time, and no, before you say it, I didn't eat any. (Was none left by the time I got to the kitchen LOL.....).

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW and John, hope you all had a great weekend and hope you are all off to a good start for the week!

Everybody, have a great week ahead. Remember, you don't have to solve all the problems of the world. You just have to give a good days work for a honest days pay and get home to enjoy the fruits of your labors. That's all you gotta do folks!

When they began to look at changing, there was very little resistance because it was the Hogs against the entire state of Texas, especially when HOU got in. But they recruited very well in Texas back then. And the money difference was pretty big.

What I had hoped would happen was a redesign of the Big 8 to the Big 14 to add AR, TX, A&M, TT, TCU, Baylor and OU for the South division. Then they could have had OSU, KS, KSU, CO, NE, MO, ISU. That would have been a great conference for all sports.

Yeah, I had wars on this board over that as well. My design would have been a little bit different but I too wanted to see that happen. The alignment would have been different, I think you probably have Texas and OU in different divisions so that you balance the conference a little more and I wanted to see ND join the Conference but yeah, I would have loved to have seen Sooey come back home.

When the Mexican government wanted it back the Texans said "Come and Take it!". A force of 100 soldiers was sent to retrieve it but were forced to retreat by the local Texas militia.

Hopefully today continues where yesterday left off. My back was much better, due in large part to the new exercises the chiropractor has me doing....Last night, when I called to confirm jury duty for today, it was cancelled, so I took a vacation day....and when I opened my mail there was a $300 check for over payment of my escrow, plus my mortgage is going to be $20 less each month....................Yes, yesterday was a good day!

Here's hoping you all feel good about today!

My back was much better, due in large part to the new exercises the chiropractor has me doing....Last night, when I called to confirm jury duty for today, it was cancelled, so I took a vacation day....and when I opened my mail there was a $300 check for over payment of my escrow, plus my mortgage is going to be $20 less each month....................Yes, yesterday was a good day!

So what you are saying is the back feels good, little extra money in the till and the bills are squared away for the next several months? Sounds like a plan that requires a few hours of Bar Stools and a Cold Beer or Two.
