I grew up in the 70's, and I'll prove it: DISCO SUCKS!!Thank you Xelda. Loved playing that. Memories of happier times with my guy that passed (2016). He was a fiend for that good stuff. Had over 5,000 songs downloaded through limewire (does anyone remember that site?) before they got the kabosh.
My oldest sister used to make fun of disco. She was heavy into Grand Funk and those sort of groups, which is fine, but personally, I love the way disco, soul and the old, true R&B sounded and still makes me feel. Give me some Barry White, Al Green etc… (throw in some Neil Diamond… need a little salt with that pepper) any day over this garbage we hear today. I’m not that OLD, people (I think Runny and I are about the same age), but the music was just better back then. Had real feeling and you could understand most of it. And the horns to back up the musicians! C’mon now… (true artistry, and the sad thing is most of those acts got ripped off by the companies promoting them.)
Yup. That’s my sister’s favorite saying too lol. My sister was a (late-ish) teen in the 70’s, while I was a ‘10 and under’. I remember riding around with her in her old beat up Ford (? I think it was a Gran Torino) with AC/DC in the 8track .I grew up in the 70's, and I'll prove it: DISCO SUCKS!!
I was...and am...a Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Queen, AC/DC, etc. fan.
I have close to 500 CDs, 70% of which are classic rock. I do have "BeeGees Number Ones", but more for the nostalgia than the love of the music.
I can pretty much find something in the genre of music to listen to, but probably my least favorite would be rap. Most of it just sounds so angry from back in the day, but there are a few songs that I don’t mind listening to.I grew up in the 70's, and I'll prove it: DISCO SUCKS!!

I like some of Eminem's stuff, and a few other songs here and there, but I find most rap to be self aggrandizing, unimaginative tripe.I can pretty much find something in the genre of music to listen to, but probably my least favorite would be rap. My daughter (and grandkids-the Virginia group) got me stuck on this ‘Country Roads’ by MiniThin. I told one of the grands we’d run through it at my next visit. He didn’t believe me. Set it up with my daughter and next visit out it magically plays on the ‘radio’ (aka Spotify) while we were all in the car. Everyone was running the lyrics together. Myself included. It was great!! Bonding through the generations. Finding ways to connect is fun.I like some of Eminem's stuff, and a few other songs here and there, but I find most rap to be self aggrandizing, unimaginative tripe.
I crafted a powerfuL, affirmative response: DITTO!I grew up in the 70's, and I'll prove it: DISCO SUCKS!!
