One thing that people have not considered much in this thread is that the Cowboys floated the release yesterday to spur clubs into action.

If that is the case then it has worked masterfully and a lot of people look foolish right now.

Sounds like they almost spurred Denver into trading Siemian to the Jets

Basic negotiation rule: the one quickest to pull the trigger loses. If someone is offering a 4th-round pick today, they may be willing to offer a 3rd in two weeks.

I think the main moral of this story is that you cannot believe what these clubs are floating out to the press. When you read something do not take it at face value and instead what action or perception it is intended to spur/portray.

So Mike Fisher was the pawn in all this.

I don't think Houston has the cap space to take on Cousins and he'll be pricier than Romo in terms of picks.

Jimmy G will also cost more in terms of draft picks.

Good luck with Cutler, Houston, if that's the direction you go in.

Easy. They were aware of Jerry's conversation with Tony. Probably got the message thru Tonys agent. Knowing Jerry's relationship with Tony, Houston felt pretty confident Jerry would not renege on that agreement. The monkey wrench in this thing is Stephen apparently convinced Jerry to hold tight, but we'll see for how long.
This.

It is going to end with a release not a trade. Just watch.
