I'll take Houston's 2nd this year and then a 5th rounder this year or a 3rd rounder next year.

Houston just gave their 2nd to Cleveland. You'll have to accept a 1st.

Easy. They were aware of Jerry's conversation with Tony. Probably got the message thru Tonys agent. Knowing Jerry's relationship with Tony, Houston felt pretty confident Jerry would not renege on that agreement. The monkey wrench in this thing is Stephen apparently convinced Jerry to hold tight, but we'll see for how long.

OK, then Romo signs with Denver.

Now what does Houston do?

One thing that people have not considered much in this thread is that the Cowboys floated the release yesterday to spur clubs into action.

If that is the case then it has worked masterfully and a lot of people look foolish right now.

It was in the back of my mind that it was a "call to action" for teams interested.

There was just nothing in their history to really think that was the case.

Still to be seen, but as of now i'll give them a "well played".

I said it before, this might get a little weird, All I can do is sit back and watch how this plays out.

Fisher is a putz. I think the team purposely feeds him BS because he's rarely right about anything but claims to have known about it after 10 others break the story.....
The only reason I follow him during the season is because he's usually the first to name the inactives.

Is this guy worth a damn? Why wouldn't they trade for Romo? They're just gonna go into the season with Tom Savage?
Apparently he's the most connected guy in Houston, but I didn't see him say anything about the Brock deal before it happened either.

You hit the nail on the head there about him not calling the Brock trade.

It's clear Houston is playing its cards close to the vest. They're being shrewd. Which is why I think Jerry ultimately is the first to cave and just releases him.

But I also don't think what Houston is telling McClain is written in stone. They're playing poker at the moment.
