he can't spin his CONTINUITY spiel.

jerrry would have to say HE WAS COMPLETELY WRONG which is not in his DNA.

Let me hypothetically ask you this.

If Jerry were to actually land Shanahan in what would be a stroke of brilliance, a marketing dream and an obvious upgrade ... who will be busy yelling on the side, "Ah ha! You were wrong! Wade wasn't the way to go!"

I don't buy that. Everyone will be too busy patting him on the back for making a grand move to bother pointing out he was wrong two days earlier.

Just my two cents.

Oh ... and if Jerry IS actually not going to pursue Shanahan for the reason you propose, then he's 10 times dumber than anyone here gives him credit for.

Never going to happen.
You have been wrong on your predictions quite a bit lately. I would chill out for a while on them. You aren't very good at it.

I put this in the other thread too, but Denver Post has an article with some quotes from Kyle S that says he believes his dad will take the year off.

I think Shanny may be one of the ten best coaches in the league. Wade is in the bottom ten. You do the math.

Honestly have you guys followed Shanny's career the past 10 years?

The guy has had total control of a Broncos team that's been one of the worst and softest defensive teams in the league. They have changed D coordinators, taken on the entire Browns defensive line, and almost every other reject including Ekuban and they can't stop anyone. The Broncos have been terrible since Elway and TD left town.

His personnel moves have been some of the worst in the league. I know he's a big name but the luster left that guy 10 years ago.

Nevermind the fact we lose our defensive mastermind (and yeah it's that good- when people execute their job) or that our entire OL is wrong for his system from blocking technique on up and that Shanahan hasn't accomplished too much in a decade or etc..

There in lies the problem ! Complete control was the issue in Denver. He is a great coach a horrible coach/gm at the same time. I always find the worse thing you could ever do is give a coach full control they lose sight of stuff way to easy. I think coaches should have input but at the end of the day the scouts and GM should make the final call

Shanahan is an offensive genius. Period.

The problem in Denver was that they let him have complete say in personnel and he meddled with the defense.

Keep him away from the defense and you have a winner.

Offensive line might be an issue...but he did it with scrap heap players in Denver. They may have been smaller, but were they REALLY quicker?

BTW, has anyone remotely considered the possibility of Garrett to Denver as HC, and Shanahan to Dallas as OC? I don't have a lot of faith in Shanahan as a HC right now, but I would love him as an OC. I do think Wade is too soft as a HC, but he is a very good DC. If we lose Wade, who could we get to replace him? Remember, Shanahan ran a 4-3 in Denver.

If I had my drothers, I would first allow Garrett to leave on his own (rather than fire him...I don't think we would want to unnecessarily burn bridges with Red) and then bring in Shanahan as OC. The ties to Romo and Owens, coupled with his cozy relationship with JJ, are just too much to overlook. I also want Dom Capers on this team as DC. Wade, Shanahan, and Capers would be a great trio.

No offense, but I'm not sure I'm buying your idea that Shanahan as a head coach is unlikely but Shanahan as an offensive coordinator here is.

With all the head coach openings, I find it hard to believe that: a) some team won't hire him as a HC; and b) that if he weren't hired, he'd choose an OC job over sitting out a season or two.

Just my thoughts, wrong or not.

if Wade stays why would we need Dom?

Jerry said he's not changing the Head Coach. I didn't hear him say anything about the Offensive Coordinator. Maybe Mike S. can be an coordinator for Dallas and if Wade screws up next season, Shananhan can take over.

If repost my bad
