Trade up or dont, this team needs to get back to being aggressive and even take chances. Remember trading Walker, getting Haley. Winning teams are aggressive and take some chances. K.City does and they have a juggernaut.

I see Pitts with more potential than the Seahawks’ Metcalf. Pitts is a couple inches taller and 10 pounds heavier but almost as quick as Metcalf. Maybe as quick. He can catch as well as Metcalf, I guess.

I see Pitts as a Randy Moss like talent at the TE position.

Many thought Clowney was going to set the world on fire and he never lived up to expectations. We shall see with Pitts.

Jets are in a tough position. I would draft Pitts and get Bridgewater or Garappolo as a bridge solution at QB for a year.

I think it's safe to say every GM is probably infatuated with Pitts. He's a generational talent. Jerry was infatuated with Manziel too and how did that turn out. Mort absolutely loves to play the Cowboys/Jerry connection card. He'd link everyone to the Cowboys if he could.
Isnt mortensen supposedly an eagles fan ? It would make sense.

Exactly.

We have made smart decision after smart decision and it gets us nowhere.

How would Mortensen know?

Same as any other talking head, "sources". Could be on the team sources or others.

But I remember that before the first Dallas-Buffalo Super Bowl, he was on a panel and every other "expert" on the show picked Buffalo to win. But Mortenson said "No, this is Dallas' year". And of course he was right.

So I'd place a bit more faith in what he says than some others, just based on his history alone...

I’m with you. Mort has solid reputation and is well respected. He isn’t the type to throw random BS out there for clicks like Fisher

I wouldn't. He's a hack and a Philly fan. He said Wentz was going to be the next great QB.

Did not look like much of a juggernaut vs Tampa Bay.

He wouldn't have to trade up for him. TE's are taken in the top 10 picks. The closest to that was Gonzalez who went 13th. Here's something else to think about. Teams, GM's, owners make it appear they want a player before the draft. It's called gamesmanship to keep the other teams unsure who they really are looking at.

I'm confused a bit. You mean they aren't generally taken top 10?

They definitely aren't, but a few have been.

Or do you mean the better ones weren't high picks?

If the Cowboys view Pitts as a transcendent and love him then go get him all else be damned. Btw I still believe Nolan was our problem and our D will be ok...

LOL

You don’t get a “bridge solution “ at the most important position in sports when you have the opportunity to pick a franchise QB

If the Jets do this and pass on Wilson they will forever be known as the stupidest organization in the NFL

You can be infatuated with somebody or something and not act on it. Doesn't mean he'd draft him, besides Jerry may be the final decision on personnel matters but that doesn't mean he never goes with what his staff says....

Getting rid of Darnold is a guarantee they will pick Wilson. At least as much as anything is a guarantee, you never know, can still trade the no. 2 pick and pick Fields, etc.

Right on queue with the negativity. You just can't help yourself.

It’s a reality. There is nothing to be positive about.. Have a look around at the lack of success.

They still can’t be real about how the way they operate gets us nowhere.
