I have watched the Cowboys since 1965 and anyone who thinks this is not the most embarrassing Boys team EVER is just not paying attention. Comparing this team to other bad Cowboys teams that didn't have the talent, or were handcuffed by the salary cap, or were coached by Jerry's amateur Head Coaches (Campo, Gailey) is not a valid comparison. This team is a team that has an experienced Head Coach, number one draft picks, and has had the benefit of serious free agent money spent on it. Yet they lost on their home field, in front of national audiences, with a Division title on the line, to their most bitter division rival (Eagles). And gentleman, it was the way they lost that makes them the most embarrassing Cowboy team ever: No heart, no guts, no toughness.

I started rooting in 1965 also...and I'm with ya, every word, on this.

Again, it is going off the deep end.

This is embarassing.

But to the point of being pitiful like losing to the Texans?

No. That is my benchmark when you want to get all excited about low spots.

This is very very bad but let's have a little perspective.

I was at Reliant Stadium that night (proudly wearing my Emmitt jersey). The feeling I had walking out of there that evening was indescribable.

Today's game wasn't a patch on that.

Spare me. This team is not even as embarrassing as the 5-11 Cowboys from 2002 who were whipped soundly by an expansion team. Not even close.

Step away from the keyboard and clear your head.

Sorry...not even close.

The most embarrassing team ever in Dallas was Jimmy JOhnson and Jerry Jones in their first year in the NFL. We were changing our roster and even our starters all year long on our way to 1-15, and it was even more embarrassing than the score because the entire league, including the media, were laughing at us, calling us a team owned by a country bumpkin and coached by a college guy who didn't understand the NFL.

There has never been a more embarrassing time in Cowboys history, but winning a SB 4 years later was then even sweeter.

No question.

This is a terrible loss, make no mistake.

But since we have had three in the last month, you would believe people were tired of attaching "Most Embarassing Ever" labels.

This team might just have been a team that got a lot of false credit.

To me, that's not embarassing. It is only embarassing if you know that we were deserving of it.

Let me spell it out for you so even you can understand it. You want to talk about pitiful losses? How about getting the holy crap kicked out of you by the Saints 42-17 at home on national TV with a # 2 playoff seed on the line (at that time). Then we follow it up two weeks later with another national TV stomping at the hands of our arch-rivals for the division title, again at home. How do we follow that up? Well, glad you asked. We let the 2-13 Detroit Lions look like the 1988 49ers against us, again at home and with a final shot at winning the divisional title. If one loss to the Texans is more pathetic to you than the scenario I just painfully relived, then you simply don't have a clue and never will.

Pardon but isn't it a bit arrogant to be telling others what their feelings are.

Let's try, one more time for the record...

I, JUKE, say that this team is the most embarrassing I have watched.

Those factors which I consider when I use the word "embarrassing" perhaps are different than yours....or if some are the same, they might be weighted a bit differently.

BUT...

This is in fact, the most embarrassing team I've watched.

The loss to the Texans was the first game of the season. I KNEW we were going to stink. BUT it wasn't a GUTLESS performance over a long period of time.

So for me, thank you, this is the most embarrassing team.

OH btw, I do in fact like Ben And Jerry's Cookie Dough more than any other flavor....or will you be correcting me there too?

:D

You're dead wrong and can't even see why. That team had no talent at all. We were starting off with a new coach with zero NFL experience. We were in decline for several years and Johnson and Jones knew they had to start from scratch. We had absolutely nothing that year. It cannot even be remotely compared to the utter collapse and failure of this year's team. If you don't see that, I don't know what else to say. This team is embarrassing from top to bottom.

But you have to admit that if they beat Seattle and compete in the game after that, the season won't be a complete failure. Sure these things seem unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Saying this is most embarrassing team in history is very premature.

If by some miracle, the team finds the nads to reverse their fortunes as of late, then the season will be salvaged to some extent. I hope I'm wrong and we go on a playoff run. However, the evidence I've seen over the past month makes that almost seem impossible. Even one playoff win against an aveage Seattle won't come anywhere close to satisfying me. Maybe my expectations were set too high, but I thought we'd be an 11-5 team that would challenge for the Super Bowl. Funny, we were once that team this year, but for whatever reason, the stagecoach turned into a pumpkin. It just seems that the team has lost every bit of confidence it once had and will continue on a downward spiral. Hope I'm wrong. I'll still watch and I'll still pull for them, but a loss will not be devastating because I've already exeperienced that this season.

Well you're wrong.

You like Chubby Hubby much more, you're just overreacting to the Cookie Dough and don't know it.

I certainly don't think it's the most embarrassing ever. It very well may be, for me at least, the most disappointing. Maybe it's a fine distinction but I've been overwhelmingly disappointed after several games this year but pound for pound not that embarrassed. I'm far more disappointed by this game than embarrassed. They played well enough, overall, to have a winning season and get to the playoffs. They showed flashes of brilliance. They have a nice mid-season run that will go down as one of the most exciting streaks in DC history. And it was bookended by a lot of disappointment.

Maybe I do have a differing definition for embarrassing performances. In my mind, the three home losses to New Orleans, Philly, and Detroit are beneath embarrassing. When you consider how badly New Orleans and Philly manhandled us at home with so much on the line, and how we let a 2-13 team beat us at home in the last game of the season, embarrassing seems to tame of a way to describe it. As many others have pointed out, Parcells Dallas teams have absolutely crumbled when the calendar has turned to December. Why? If anyone knows the answer to that, they could become a very rich person.

The most embarrassing Cowboy Team in my opinion was the 2002 team which lost to the Texans.

this Lions team might have been worse than that Houston team

and I know our 2006 Cowboys are eons more talented than the 2002 Cowboys were

that team also had Dave Campo as a HC, remember?

embarrassing, pathetic displays of football were to be expected then...they arnt now
