Moving on from Beasley

I've seen this idea pop up in quite a few threads lately. I'm not sure what spawned this. Admittedly with being in vacation last week and some other personal business, I haven't been as plugged in as usual, but where did this come from?

Did a coach or FO person allude to something I missed? Is it people just wanting change for the sake of change? Do you believe the difference in play between Switzer and Beasley is negligible and therefore are ready to pass the torch?

Can someone shed a lite light and share their opinions on this? I sincerely don't get it. I like Beas. I like his attitude, his work ethic and his skill set. He's one of the few real "gamers" we have on offense.

So, clue me in, please.

I'll tell you this much Texbum
in all honesty! I can't recall witnessing in my entire career of Cowboys fandom, anything close as to the extremely Superior& seamlessly streamlined ballistic coefficient of a #11 on the field,,,EVER!

Your theory on why people have suggested cutting Beasley was idiotic. No one wants him out because they are offended he’s a hard worker.

He would save over 3MM in cap space,
they have a replacement on the roster and as noted his production has been random
.
I don't recall anyone complaining about Beasley's production in 2016 when he led ALL Cowboy receivers in production.
Beasley caught 75 of 98 targets
Witten caught 69 of 95
Dez caught 50 of 97
That was when we had an OL, a QB, and a running game.

In 2017 the OL, the QB, and the running game all went down hill.
So in view of that I would ask, whose production was NOT "random" last year? Even Dez is up for possible pay cuts.
Are we going to replace everyone whose production was "random" last year?

And as for having a replacement on the roster, I don't see where Switzer all of a sudden qualifies as a replacement for Beasley.
Switzer has proven nothing. He made 1 kick return for a TD and caught 6 passes for 41 yards and that's it.

Sorry, but it looks to me like people were playing musical chairs and Beasley's name popped up as the next guy to rag on.

Off topic and all i'm going to say about it here the Austin bombing suspect is dead and good riddance
(Off-topic)
Man! I'd just picked up 'news' about that weird A-HOLE this morning off the DRUDGE!, I was still kinda trying to be current over that 750 ton pedestrian walkway collapse in Florida,,,, so,it was shades of Ted Kaczynski Texas style going down on the home front? The bomb target map off the DRUDGE link forced me to draw a focus, as it's been happing for better than a week & I knew nothing about.

I like that.........I think.... LOL

The reason I put both Witt and Bease into this post together is it's the same morons who don't know anything about football who are agitating replacing both of them. The only guys who looked even remotely consistent last season with Dak, and of course during his rookie year, Bease was his best friend
Beasley has that chemistry with Dak that the coaches wish Dez had. The idea of cutting and changing WRs is fine but before they do that they should also try changing the game plan once in a while and game planning for opponents. The Cowboys like to have LBs and Oline than can play multiple positions well they should also be rotating the WR positions on the field so its harder for teams to get a fix on what the offense is doing. Bascially the coaches dont know how to use what they already have!!

yeah I mean shifting Beez around the field and having him go outside on occasion, having dez run more slant and curl routes will let him use his primary strength (hands and toughness), Witten being used for short yardage needs.. it would work out, IF Linehan were smart enough to do it... and he's not.

It doesn't matter what QB and WR's we have. As long as clappy the clown and his entourage of idiots are in charge, we get nowhere.

Every once in a while it would be nice to see Witten run those deep crossing routes about 20 yards down the field like he did 10 years ago!

I don't know that he has that ability anymore honestly. I think he';s best used in short yardage situations, since Dak loves to throw 3-5 yard passes....

Yeah but why would Beasley re-sign? I wouldnt' sign if I were him coming off a bad year.

Remember that Beasley walked out of camp and had to be talked back in. Seems like the kind of guy who prefers security and certainty. We could give him that, and continuity in his life.

I'm sure it wouldn't work for everyone. May not work for him. But it may.

It's a personality thing. Some people are happy with the bird in the hand and a settled future over two in the bush.

If we acquire 1 or 2 impact WRs to deflect attention from "The Bease," he'll pick up his game and be fine again.

I can take him or leave him. He's a good player, but if we're not serious about involving him more, he's pretty worthless.
