ZONERS:

NO other owner LOVES his team as much as Mr. Jones does--period!

1st owner to win 3 Super Bowls in a 4 year span.

Pulled off the biggest trade in NFL history. Hershal for 3 Super Bowls basically.

He is the envy of ALL of his NFL peers because of his business mind.

I just don't understand how ANY TRUE Cowboy fan can say one NEGATIVE thing about Mr. JONES! :star:

Someone explain it to me please............

Kind of ironic that this thread is just above the one for Quincy Carter going to the arena league. Who drafted him again??

What has he done for us lately, oh and I think a certain individual named Jimmy Johnson had something to do with ALL those superbowl wins and the Herchel Walker trade.

Jerry is the one who makes trades like 2 1st round picks for Joey Galloway and yes drafting a 6th round projected Quincy Carter in the 2ND round.

I guess I can understand support for the owner of our team in hopes of future success, but please don't over do it, GREATEST OWNER OF ALL TIME? He ain't even the greatest owner/GM of all time in Cowboys history.

It has become obvious to some fans that the cowboys won those 3 superbowls in spite of , not because of , Mr.Jones. There is NO questioning his business mind. He is a great business man. But a great business man, plus a being a fan of football, does NOT = being a good football man. When Jones first bought the 'boys, he thought he was a football man over night.. I hope, as do many fans, that he has learned from those lessons. IF you need proof of Jones not being a football man, just go find that post that listed all his drafts after Jimmy left. Those drafts were pathetic, no other word can describe them.

I can only hope, that being around Parcells for a few years has helped him.

No question that Jerry wants to win. However, he also wants his name attached to anything positive. He seeks the limelight too much, in my opinion. I love his business acumen. He would be the perfect owner if he could keep his ego and need for attention in check.

OK then, Jerrys facelift was an improvement for him, it makes him look better. That's the best I can do at this time.;)

OK, I'll play...

I sure am glad we've got him for an owner, and not the Mad Midget...

I defy any Cowboys fan to argue THAT with me...

I ask you. Who hired Jimmy Johnson?

Yes, that was a bad trade or bad advice from our scouts.....as fans we DO NOT know what happen for sure on that trade or drafting Carter.

I should add ALL-AROUND to his title........:star:

Jerry gets on my nerves sometimes, mostly just when he talks - he seems likeable enough, I just always feel like he's trying to sell me something. Which is ok most of the time, except for when he signed TO - that press conference made me want to puke, it was so smarmy.

But, there is no question that he wants the Cowboys to win more than anything, and that he will do whatever it takes. You don't always hit the home run, and sometimes to flat out strike out, but Jerry always gives it his best shot. And he seems willing to learn, adjust and adapt.

Ah.....a reasonable poster who evaluates fairly. ;)

If Jerry would have never hired Jimmy, I doubt you'd be as big a Jerry fan unless you enjoy inept football operations which I'm sure you don't.

I think that's a fair assessment.

The only problem I have with Jerry Jones is that he thinks he knows football as well as or better than the football people do. And sometimes this fuels his enthusiasm and clouds his judgment.

But I believe if a team is on the cusp of a Super Bowl and needs to add one more impact player, Jerry Jones is the type of owner who will take that gamble and give up two No. 1 draft picks to get that one player he believes will do the job.

That can be risky, but I admire an owner who will do what it takes to win, just as long as he knows his place.

BrAinPaiNt, I don't want any undeserved love.......I am just telling the truth about our owner. Mr. Jones is an owner we should be proud of......he makes mistakes, but I would not trade him for any other owner out there.

Look at the money he spends trying to field a team the fans are proud of. He is not afraid to take chances.....and I respect that as a fan.

You could be right......but, like Mr. Jones said .....he could hire anyone and win with the talent they had in 95 and went out and proved it.

Yes, JJ was responsible for alot of that talent.....but, I know for sure Mr. Jones had a lot of input and made the final decisions on the draft with Jimmy.
