Hamstring Strain:
  • A hamstring strain is a common injury characterized by the stretching or tearing of muscle fibers within the hamstring muscle group, which is located in the back of the thigh.
  • It is often referred to as a "pulled hamstring."
  • Strains are typically graded into three categories: Grade 1 (mild), Grade 2 (moderate), and Grade 3 (severe), based on the extent of muscle damage.
  • In a mild strain (Grade 1), there is minimal damage to the muscle fibers, causing mild discomfort and often allowing for relatively quick recovery.
  • In a moderate strain (Grade 2), there is more significant damage, leading to moderate pain, swelling, and a longer recovery period.
  • Severe strains (Grade 3) involve a substantial tear of the muscle, resulting in severe pain, swelling, and potential loss of function.
He's to the application of heat now...stimulating circulation. No additional damage.

Didn’t Tyler play with a high ankle sprain and position change against Tampa in game 1 last season. I bet playing on an ankle injury is harder then a hamstring strain.

With our lack of quality depth on the OL we’re not going to be able to afford injuries upfront this season.
Unfortunately that's trench wars. Its the nature of the beast.
Guys are always tripping and fallin' on the back of the legs and knees of OL and DL guys.
(ala Steele's ACL) those type of accidents happen to even the more durable guys.

We have to acquire the proper depth guys (per personnel crew) - and we have to develop these players and have
them ready (per our coaches)

I applaud the club for not being content with staying with a Matt Farniok by default, keeping
a scrub player who has not advanced and improved his game, just for the sake of needing a backup center.

He was injured worse last year and played. I think he plays but may get Bass some time in there also. If Bass gets in a groove they may let him play. I know they want to run behind Tyler and Tyron. Man throw Luekpe in as a lead block through there and it’s 5-7 every run if giants are lucky. Maybe Tyron don’t rip his off the bone again. Although when Tyron did he he was walking fine and just grunted. He would have likely kept playing if that happened in a game. Lol.

Club was apparently was counting on Chuma, Watleksko (and Ball?) to provide depth.
These are starting to look like injury prone guys.

- They still have Hoffman on the practice squad, and think he has a higher ceiling of potential and development
than what was displayed in preseason. Forbid if we have to resort on him per emergency injury bring up.

- Apparently coaches were not content with Farniok to keep him on the 53 roster and thought to better place him on
practice squad. (albeit his refusal to be added to PS ?)

I hope they don't bring him back simply just because they hopelessly cannot find anyone else out on the street.
I think Bass is better and that’s why they let him go. When a draft pick comes in and is as good as someone you have invested time in it can be an easy decision. But a few injuries can change your mind. This is where I believe we should have gotten Peters in early to get him in some kind of shape. He comes in off the street and is no way ready. And he don’t move good anymore. But stick him at guard and he maybe pretty good.

Is that what happened Farni got butt hurt and went home. When a rook comes in and looks better then that’s what happens. He had to know he wouldn’t be on PS for long.

Dude is not a lead blocker. (will have to work at this) May not even be a game active.
