Matt Farniok remains an unrestricted free agent after going unclaimed through waivers last Tuesday. Farniok had 2 years remaining on his rookie deal and the other 31 teams didn't claim him.

But New England had Farniok in for a tryout along with a handful of other hopefuls today.

I didn’t watch a lot of preseason. They only let Farni play center I think. There is another that did ok setting on PS. But apparently Bass did VERY WELL as far as impressing the staff.

Yes, at Guard is where Bass stood out. He's never played Center before in his life. Cowboys currently have no backup at Center in case Biadasz gets injured.

Amazing how many orthopedic specialists we have in this thread.

I have no idea if he’ll play or not. I suppose we’ll have to wait and find out.

If he does, it doesn’t mean that he was rushed and there’s still disaster around the corner.

If he doesn’t, it doesn’t mean that it’s a season threatening injury.

I full expect more prophecies along both lines, some folks will predict both, just to cover their bases when it comes time to proclaim the end times.

Farniak probably won't be signed as a guard at least...

You should know by now when Dr. Jerry talks, you should probably seek a second opinion, pronto. In fairness, it also appears Jerry said what he said before the results of the MRI came out.

I think he will play, but if he can't go, next man up. I'm interested to see if it will be Bass or Richards. Overall I am super excited that we have a good team and the season is starting. Enjoy the ride.

I’m torn between Bass and Richards. I wanted Edoga as the first man off the bench a few months ago, but with his injury and the fact he played almost no OG all off-season I don’t think that would be a good idea.
