Agreed. All those center snaps for bass are going to have to wait now.

Dr. Jerry strikes again. I wish he would just shut up.
Have you studied every team to know this? Not every team has a “big” drop off between their starters and backups on the OL. Once you get past our starters, it’s a steep drop off. Even Jerry has concerns about it.
I’m talking about our OL depth. I have no idea about other teams, but I think the odds are pretty slim that 31 other teams depth on the OL drop off as much as ours. I’m certainly not saying other teams don’t have the same issue, but not all of them as far as their OL depth is concerned. There’s always going to be some drop off between a starter and a backup, but there are some backups in the league on the OL that are high quality where you don’t lose too much if they have to play.Have you studied every team to know this?
I am sure all teams owners are concerned with depth.
I am not asking to knock you. Just a legit question. As many fans don’t much about our own depth.
Not you, as you post here and know the team, as we most do. But how many actually look at other teams True depth.
We also have a very strong starting 5. If you lose an all pro for example, theres going to be a big drop off.I’m talking about our OL depth. We do have a strong starting five, but Tyron has dropped off some. From listening to those who closely cover the team and listening to Jerry, the drop off between our backups on the OL and our starters is pretty significant. We also have a very strong starting 5. Id wager you wont find very many teams sustain such a loss without a noticably large drop off.
Well if you look at it, our backups are a lot of youth as well. I was all for signing Peters to have another vet in the group. Most of our guys arent close to being finished products. That does seem to be how we develop them. It becomes a much larger issue when we lose multiple. I have heard time and again oline depth is a problem across the league. Its tough because our depth would be much better had we kept the Connors. Of course thats the nature of the cap.We do have a strong starting five, but Tyron has dropped off some. So what's the prognosis?!
He's the GM. Who else should be retelling the media this information? The team Dr doesn't talk to media.Dr. Jerry strikes again. I wish he would just shut up.
Not yet.
Matt Farniok remains an unrestricted free agent after going unclaimed through waivers last Tuesday. Farniok had 2 years remaining on his rookie deal and the other 31 teams didn't claim him.
But New England had Farniok in for a tryout along with a handful of other hopefuls today.
Farniok cut himself with his play. I’m sure the Cowboys thought he could be a decent backup C, but you can’t just be that in a backup role. You have to have position flex and Farniok was consistently getting blown up in preseason at the guard position. He just doesn’t have the strength at this levelDid you watch the preseason games? Farniok was the best Center all preseason since Biadiasz was not allowed to play. I don't care what the team thought. New Oline coach Mike Solari obviously had a big say. Look up the end of season Oline ranks for the last 15 years and teams Solari has been the Oline coach. Answer: not good. Here. Take a look...

If you want to kiss up to this team's decisions when it comes to the Oline and Oline coaches the past 5 - 8 years, go ahead. I won't.

Dr Jerry will probably say "nothing significant" and then 6-8 weeks later...So what's the prognosis?!
Ugh don’t even get me started on Hoffman. Even though Farniok didn’t play well, the ONLY reason I can guess they kept Hoffman over him is to give the guy time to develop. But man…he would have to have an INCREDIBLE redshirt year to earn the PS next year. The guy was way worse than Farniok as a center. Honestly he was the worst PS lineman IMOAgreed.
He looked decent his rookie season, but he definitely declined.
Not really sure I like the idea of Hoffman getting starting snaps if Biadasz goes down. But I’m sure other teams feel the same losing a guy like Kelce or Creed Humphrey
