Usually we only take them when they're damaged enough nobody will give them a legit offer, but Wilkerson might fit into that category at this point. Though it sounds like more a case of a guy getting paid and giving up.

And dont forget the record breaking FA haul we had last year that we need to beat out. All 3 major FA signings were off the team by game #6. LOL

Most teams don't just trade or let their overall good players go. So in that case you might as well get out of the trade and free agency business. Eagles got Ajayi, Skins got Norman, just a couple of top of my head.

This is actually the kind of project we like to undertake if he'll take a short term deal that pays ok but has no commitment. We reportedly had some interest in him a couple of seasons ago, too, iirc.
That was Sheldon Richardson that we had interest in according to Fisher.

Because we've done this already. Hardy,McClain ect. Picking guys out of the bail room,is a far different circumstance than passing on a good player, and Dallas has been striking out on that high fastball pitch for more than a few innings.

What's it going to be then, eh?

McClain was a very good signing, and Hardy's production was well worth his 1 year deal. Those worked out.
Dre11 is right though. It's really annoying on here.

1st its "we only go dumpster diving, we need some talent"
Then a talented player like Wilkerson becomes available and its " No he's a nut case locker room cancer". Okay thought you wanted a talented player.

Then a good player who isnt a locker room cancer becomes available like Earl Thomas and it's "The most id give up is a 4th rounder next year".

WHAT THE HELL DO THESE PEOPLE WANT!?!?!!?

I thought it was both, but could easily have gotten my Richardson’s crossed.

I remember draft interest in Sheldon, but it thought we were rumored to have interest in Mo when he was having issues but couldn’t get the compensation worked out.

Would Wilkerson be considered a bargain bin free agent? Yeah I didn't think so either, Pipe Dream, never gonna happen

No,that's not how it worked out at all. They both caused them problems, and it's been talked about plenty. That's the context of the argument.
