On his twitter he is pretty much letting everyone know a decision has been made & he's signing elsewhere.. No news as to where he is headed, but it's pretty telling that his days are over in Dallas.

Nein! If Jerra let him go we will roux the day.
How's exchanging 1800 yards for a journeyman or rookie 900-yarder?

CJ Spiller, come on down. What we'll lose in the 'dirty yards' as Garrett calls them, Spiller will make up for with his home run speed and game changing abilities. Murray gets to the second level and looks to run outta bounds or lay down, Spiller takes those to the house - especially with the gaping holes the great wall will be busting open next year.

He "laid down" for 1,800+ yards. I'm sorry, some of you don't recognize greatness even if it falls in your laps.

Nice way of building up an RB who's never carried the load and just got kicked to the curb in favor of a back Murray out rushed by over 500 yards in 2014.

nobody. some people just seem to think/talk in extremes. that or they cry out against fictitious arguments no one has really said but is loosely implied by the situation itself, so they wind up arguing with no one except their own strange mental issues about a situation that doesn't exist.

You were saying something about thinking/talking in extremes? Then you go on, and insinuate someone has mental issues(based on one simple post; not even a paragraph of txt) because they used the word "Anyone", which you yourself admits is loosely implied by the situation. A situation that deals with NFL free agency and being discussed by fans who do nothing but assume and guess and analyze every move?

o.k.

This is a tough call all around..... I think someone will pay Murray more then what we should offer him.

Although long term this makes sense. I don't think it makes us better for next year....for all kinds of reasons. But, thats just my opinion. Just a fan.....

So it looks like the front office is believing the threads on here that it was mainly the line and not Murray

Hope they are right

Of course I could be wrong, I just think it would be extremely difficult for Murray to duplicate what he did last year

Good points. I believe without a good offensive line you have nothing. No running game, no pass game, no success. However this doesn't mean that the players behind this line are just interchangeable pieces. Sure Murray would gain more yards next year in Dallas than in Jacksonville due to the line. But that doesn't mean Joseph Randle or Gurley or whoever you plug in behind this line would be as productive as Murray. It doesn't mean this person would get you the important first down when you need it. It doesn't mean this back will have what it takes to keep running over defenders into the 4th quarter when everyone knows you are going to be running the ball.

Its an interesting topic and one that we cant really ever know....Murray understands this and he doesn't want to go anywhere else. Plus he seems to really love the Cowboys and the life he has created in Dallas.

I am intrigued by the idea of a guy with home run ability like Adrian Peterson playing for the Cowboys. But at the same time I have a certain level of appreciation for what Murray brings to the team. I like being able to route for a group of good guys.

Behind what is considered one of the best offensive lines ever assembled, in NFL history, the Cowboys lost the first 2 games of the 1993 season. E. Smith held out for those two games. We lost them both. E. Smith returned and they went on to win a super bowl......The first team ever to lose their first two games and still reach a super bowl....just food for thought :)

just because i notice something is extreme, doesn't mean i'm being extreme. :) in these "anyone" type emotional rants people can go on i've asked several times to name someone who felt that particular way and more often than not i get "well you know what i mean"!!!!!!

i tend not to just shout in anger and argue with people who don't exist but is usually a situation people THINK exists yet when asked to go a bit deeper, they usually get flustered.

there. i hacked up that sentence.

i'll stand by what i said/typed.

So I just checked, but I don't think people really noticed that Demarco didn't have a Cowboys-specific avatar on his twitter. He did scrub his bio and cover, but his avi was just a pic of him holding a football.

Minor detail. Just wanted to get in on this monster thread we have going.

He'll never come close to sniffing 1000 yards on the jags
He doesn't have to. He's busted his butt here enough to get paid big money, just that he can't reap the rewards here. But not to worry, 500 running backs can run behind this line, just like Jerry saying that 500 coaches could coach the Super Bowl Dallas Cowboys back in the 90s.

Here's Murray's dilemma.

He wants $9 million per year. No team sees him in that range. They think he's worth $5-6 million, which they believe the Cowboys will match. So why bother? He obviously has no good football reason to leave, and he's happy in Dallas.

As a result, the Cowboys might get a HUGE bargain on him. If nobody calls, he might be below $5 million per year.

Letting him go is a big gamble.

Might be messing with our chance to get into and deep in playoffs.

This team got a taste last year.

Jerry is in a tough spot.

He should make a fair deal to try and keep him.

Split the difference. $7mil-ish per year.
