Murray deletes Dallas out of BIO & Cowboys AVI

Sad to see him go, and happy he is getting paid but I cannot fault the team for not paying huge $$ for him.

Looks like they'll need to find a couple of backs to compete for spots next year. Ajayi, Coleman, Gurley, Yeldon, D Johnson and Cobb would all be productive behind that line.

If he's gone, he's gone. Bye.
He had 1 great season for us. He'll have zero for the Jags. Picking Money over contending for a title. Hope it's worth it to him. We'll keep moving forward without him.

That one great season brought us from 8-8 to 12-4.

He had a 1,200 yard season a year before, it took us getting an RB to amass 1,800 yards to bring us to the playoffs. Anyone who thinks we'll just bring in some schmoe from the street and have the same success is kidding themselves. It's either we get Peterson and do what we did last year, or we go back to being a tad more pass happy because you don't get an RB every year that rushes for 1,800 yards. If anything, we sign Spiller and we'll have to find a complimentary back that helps equal the production that Murray got us.

Seriously, when thinking about this more, this really sucks. We actually lose a lot with Murray walking.

If Dallas needs an 1800 yard back, to not be .500, what does that say about them?

The offensive line helped that as well. Murray wasn't back there having to go Barry Sanders on every play. Will we lose production without him? Perhaps, but we don't know WHO will be back there yet, to really know if any damage is done if he's gone.

The same thing it says about the team of the 90s? If you're a running team you need a legit running back? Or do you think they win those SBs with any scrub behind Aikman?

Not sure what you're trying to say? This team is going to regret letting Murray walk but hey they didn't spend money! Woohoo!

I don't know. Maybe because AD is I like, waaaaaaaay better

If you talk about drop off, ap already had his 2000yd season, as well as being 30, as well as not playing a season, oh yeah, you would probably pay him the same as demarco.

No, I am saying, if dallas needs to have a back that gains 1800 yds rushing to be over 8-8, and no other team does, it says something isn't right.

Peterson behind this line this season >>>>>>>>demarco behind this line this season....

From Rotoworld....agree he may have to come. Back

A source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter the Cowboys haven't called free agent RB DeMarco Murray since last week.

The first wave of high-priced free agents came and went with very little buzz on Murray, the NFL's leading rusher from last year. He's now deleted any references to the Cowboys from his Twitter page, heightening assumptions he won't be back. We wouldn't completely rule out a reunion though, as Murray could very well find a colder than expected market and have to come crawling back to Dallas for significantly less than the $8 million per year he's seeking. Racking up 497 touches in one season is going to bite him in the wallet.

Yes, the offensive line helped, but please let's not sit here and bring up the offensive line grades. Our offensive line still had a lot of issues, especially with blitzes. Murray helped our offensive line look damn good as well, weaving his way through small holes most backs would have avoided and taken to the outside. It was the same in the passing game as well, Romo still helped our O-line look better against the past than they actually were. This all came to light against tough defensive lines. But we have young players on our line, it's understandable and will get better.

We already know the FA's that are out there, none of them I'd take a chance on. I'd see what Spiller is going for, but I don't want him as our 3 down back, I'd bring him in because I think we could still spend money on an RB and get on in the draft to help equal what Murray gave us. If our offense is going to be run heavy again, we'll need a quality back, obviously.

When does Minnesota have to make their decision on Peterson...meaning - at what point does his contract for this season or a significant portion of it, become guaranteed? That's the key date I'm looking for

And he is gonna want to be paid for being way better too.

We don't know this. He knows he's 30 years old as well, and we know in this league 30 year old RBs don't get gigantic contracts. Even if he demands a big contract, there isn't going to be a team in the league that pays him like he's a 25 year old RB, it's just not going to happen.

Didn'T Forsett have like 200 yards less than DM?
