You are forgetting about Dez. Who is easier to replace there? Also, the cap implications continue. We will eventually need to lock-up our o-line, Williams is up next season, etc. We simply can take a 8 mil + cap hit for an RB.

I know we will need to lock up some players ect coming up....but it wasn't Murray or Dez. We could say it was Murray or Crawford. The AP offensive player of the year who doesn't have a ton of wear on his body yet who rushed for 1845 yards and caught 50 passes. A player who both Romo and Dez were campaigning for us to keep or a middle of the road Defensive Lineman who may never be great?

I like Crawford...I just don't like to see Murray leave and then see a guy who hasn't yet earned 8 million get it while Murray gets shown the door.

I live in the philly area and have been listening and they actually are still happy they have Murray. It seems some of the philly fans are smarter than you. They realize they have some serious holes on the offensive line.

They do have some serious holes on the Oline, I am glad you agree. Those same holes that arent in Dallas. Which is why Murray cant run anywhere. Which gets back to my point that Murray wasnt worth the money and ran well in Dallas because of the great Oline we had. And which goes back to my other point. That its not about style at all, its about the Oline.

Thanks for agreeing with my point. :muttley:

As soon as you pull up the post where I said Murray sucks and it has "nothing to do with anything but the oline" then we can talk like adults.

If you want to have a rational conversation, the speaking rationally would help.

I just scanned your previous comments on a few threads and quickly came to the conclusion that you are a waste of time. You can't be more than 12 years old.
Carry on. I'll pass.

Great observation. The up the middle runs were pretty bad when they played the Falcons yet they were able to get some production pulling to the outside. We guessed right that they would keep trying that and we were waiting for it.

I don't think it would have mattered if it was Murray or McCoy last night. The plays where they pull guards to the outside requires the RB to show enough patience to let his linemen get in front of him. It wasn't just pitches to the outside where the RB could use speed to get the edge.

Sean Lee was there to bust up

LOL...........you mean you just scanned my posts and couldnt find where I said that. Next time dont lie about what people say to make a point. And I have a 12 year old son that knows more about football than you do. And he doesn't have to lie to prove a point.

In fairness to Murray I don't really think he's declined. Just a terrible fit for their system. Dude is a down hill back. Personified. Trying to make him an East/West back is just stupid. He's still a hell of a back and at a lower price would've loved him to back in Dallas.

They aren't trying to make him and east/west back, he signed up for that knowingly

The stat about rb's following 400 plus touch seasons having a significant drop off is telling.

Not so much a decline as a bad offense with a bad offensive line and a bad scheme. His hurdle over Carr suggests that he is far from done. I don't remember seeing Emmitt, MJD, Tomlinson or any other backs do that as they declined.

Have you watched the games? That's exactly what they're doing. Jelly is clueless when it comes to utilizing his players and playing to their strengths.

is at his " Eddie George " stage in his career. Murray's prime ended Week 12 of last year and the decline looks to be very steep and very fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew's winds up the starter sometime this season and Murray and plays 2 years of his contract.

no it just proves that you need a line, I can't count how many times our defenders were in the backfield prior to him getting up to the line.

you need OL to make everything click. you need DL to make your DBs look great.

That's possible. I think he's definitely learning a lesson about personnel this season, and hope the Eagles remain dysfunctional for the entire year.

Not only that, but when he does get fired, they will have no talent suitable for an NFL roster. We really should be grabbing ahold of the division. I wish Romo had steel collarbones.

Romo needs a complete skeletal overhaul and then he can play until he's 80.

While I agree the offensive line was a big part of Murray's success let's not forget he was pretty good in 2013. Offensive line was solid, but not nearly as good as it is now. Cowboys just didn't give him the ball enough. I don't think Murray is an elite talent, but he is a good back. A very good back.

It certainly seems like we get more than our fair share of bad breaks (no pun intended). Just goes to show you how great an accomplishment it is winning Super Bowls the way Dallas did in the 1990s. Opportunities to get there in this league are fleeting for a variety of reasons.

Hopefully, we can at least break even with Weeden at QB so we still have a shot when Romo returns, if he's able to return in seven to eight weeks. If we're sitting there at 5-4 or 6-4, the division is still there for the taking.

I think that's actually fairly realistic. Lets be honest here too - without Dez Bryant on the field either, we're essentially playing with house money.

If our defense continues to improve and Weeden can go .500 for 8 weeks, we'll be 6-4 after the bye with Romo and Dez returning healthy and fresh with 6 to play. Win 4 or 5 of 6 and we're in the playoffs.

Hell even if we win the division at 9-7, we would be the most deceptive 9-7 team in the playoffs.

It's a team game. This offensive line is largely part of Murray's success, but it's not like Murray was a bum running behind this line either.

I'm still giving our committee an "incomplete" grade for now. We did rush for 100+ as a team yesterday, though. I don't particularly care where the yards come from as long as we're able to run a balanced, effective offense each game.

The one thing that excites me over this stretch is the way the defense is playing without having its elite pass rusher, another who shows signs that he may be elite and one of our top three LBs on the field. That might not be enough with Weeden at QB to beat teams like Seattle, but it could be enough against lesser foes.

Would have been nice for the Brady suspension to have been upheld since New England will get us without our best on the field.

I don't think hes done by any stretch. His line was terrible today.

I don't think he's in decline, by any stretch.

I just don't think he was every as good as some people thought because he finally stayed healthy and had a great year, behind a great o-line, in a contract year.

The guy was never going to be as close to what he was last year.

I agree tenfold. I'm really pissed now because I would have loved to drag New England up and down the field.

We still might be able to get them. Buffalo hung 32 on them and although I really like what I've seen from Tyrod Taylor, he ain't Tony Romo.

New England's run defense is questionable at best. Hopefully Randle and Darren can do some big things in the run game and Dunbar can be Weeden's safety blanket for the next two months. I really, really like Dunbar as the RB/WR/UTIL/ATH guy. We should have him returning punts too.
