Murray won't get a big offer anywhere

Emmitt Smith couldn't run behind that ridiculous offensive line.

Murray struggled here until the offensive line was in place. He'll struggle there, too.

I wouldn't disagree with you on that point.

But both he and the Colts will convince themselves otherwise.

If they're willing to pay him the money, he'll sign there.

And the Colts will believe that Murray will be the difference-maker for them and the one piece they need to have a complete and championship-caliber offense.

Getting tired of Demarco 'not being special'. With this season, he just topped Emmitt Smith in franchise history. You know, the NFL's all time leading rusher

There are a lot of running backs in recent memory that took on the workload he did, and never got close to matching it. Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, etc.

This is my odds on favorite. I think they are like 27M under the cap.

And they're about to send former #3 overall pick Trent Richardson out the door.

They'll be looking to make up for that terrible trade and signing the league's leading rusher would be a great start.

I don't think so.

The draft is rich with running backs. I'd take Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon over Murray right now without batting an eye.

How many running backs could have done that here with this offensive line and that many carries?

Lynch, Gore, Peterson, Forte, Foster, Lacy, Charles, Bell, McCoy, Griffin, Stewart.......

How do you know that?

With that argument, how many RBS could have been the NFL'S all time.leading rusher behind Emmitt's line?

More than a couple.

Emmitt's greatest strength was his ability to stay healthy. But ability wise, Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, Rodney Hampton, Rickey Watters, Chris Warren, Barry Foster, Neal Anderson......there were plenty of backs that could have had huge careers here.

And Emmitt is my favorite Cowboy of all time.

Another running back doesn't solve that. A horrible offensive line is their problem.

Yeah I agree they're oline is terrible but I think they will invest in both. This Colts team has overachieved this year, Irsay is going to try to strike while things are hot.

That's fine. Doesn't disqualify the fact that he is, right now, special. That's my problem here. Whether we should keep him or not is debatable, but to discredit his ability because you lean one way is absurd

Norm Hitzges brought up an interesting name.

Mark Ingram.

Dallas might want to go there. Talented, inexpensive, lots of tread left, and averaged 4.3 yards behind an awful line.

Oh ok, yeah. I agree. I think they are saying you could get similar production from 2-3 running backs at a cheaper price. He had a great season, no doubt.

He'll cost more than 4 year 16 mil. Saints don't want to let him go.

If he walks away, it is okay. Not great, but certainly understandable. There are always exceptions, but I don't believe in throwing tons of money at RBs, TEs or LBs.

So, why are you contending that Murray will remain in Dallas?

Why don't the Cowboys simply move on then and get one of the stud running backs you mentioned from the draft?

But he's only 25, and he doesn't have Murray's wear and tear.

Maybe the Colts want Ingram?

Again, just how many options will Murray have?

I said leading rusher, not huge career. Other ppl being good doesn't discredit what he accomplished. Likewise for Murray

They offered 4 years and $16 million already. They want him, but at the right price. Who will really offer more?

I doubt Indy is going to spend top dollar on a RB after the Trent Richardson trade fiasco.

I think that's even more incentive for them to do it.

What better way to wash away the stink from that deal than to sign "the NFL's leading rusher"?
