Yes penalties are a problem and the biggest one at the moment. Romo threw 9 int's in 14 in the exact offense with the same running game.
Stop saying his style led to turnovers. We score 30 + points in 10 games with romo playing 15 of them. The cowboys offense was beyond dominant in december of 2014.
again, I disagree on what you are saying about Dak, He was in zero danger of being benched. He just had his best game against Baltimore. Minnesota and NY were difficult environments with terrific defenses. we went 1-1. The coaches were probably thrilled to split those road games.
Fans are the ones that could not understand what NY was doing in previous weeks not the coaching staff.
Romo had 5 more INT's in 2014 than Dak has right now and Romo is a highly experienced veteran QB who had played with Dez for 5 seasons at that time. Romo and Dez not being on the same page early on resulted in INT's. Just go back to the season opener in 2011 vs the Jets when Dez and Romo got crossed up, causing a pick that helped cost us that game. Dez burned Dak against the Giants when he slipped on one route and screwed the other up causing both INT's. Everyone knows Romo's gunslinging style led to a number of INT's over his career. He looks to throw TD's and is willing to risk turning the ball over to do it. Dak looks to move the chains while Romo probably would have been looking for a TD to Dez on a contested ball that could have resulted in a turnover vs Tampa.
In 2014 against Green Bay in the playoffs, facing a 4th and 2 with just over 4 minutes to play, Dak would have been looking to pick up the first down to Beasley/Witten or taking off and running with it instead of doing what Romo did by tossing a 50/50 jump ball to Dez. You're bringing up what Romo did in 2014 but he was an experienced veteran QB who had been working his receivers for years. Naturally you can take more chances down the field with a veteran QB than with a rookie who was forced into the starting lineup this season due to an injury. You have to manage a rookie QB, you can't just have them throw balls to the wall chunking it down the field to Dez on contested balls.
Say what what you will but had Dak played "poorly" against Tampa and it resulted in a loss there was a real possibility he would have been benched in favor of Romo. I know how the Cowboys think which is why I knew as long as we were winning and Dak was playing great, he wouldn't be pulled for Romo. Stop comparing what we did offensively with a veteran QB in 2014. Our offense ranks higher than it did in 2014 and Dak is having probably the best season any Cowboys QB has ever had.
