Thor, WonderWoman and assorted other ones have been targeted for a few years as contenders for the big screen.

Wonder Woman is in development hell. I don't see this one happening for a while from Warners. But thankfully, that damn JUSTICE LEAGUE film has finally been killed and burried.

Looks like DC/Warners has these on the front-burner: GREEN LANTERN, THE FLASH, JONAH HEX, and SGT. ROCK. Also, look for THE MAN OF STEEL to go into production early next year (with a new director) and a third Chris Nolan Batman film will arrive in 2011.

GOOD. I like Singer's X-Men (although I think they were more Wolverine & THe X-Men), but his Superman just didn't do it for me. Which is a shame, because EVERY superhero movie will forever be compared to the first two., and his was found lacking.

I've heard they are keeping Bryan on as producer for TMOS. Personally, I liked SUPERMAN RETURNS, but I do understand why many did not.

It was OK. It looked good, Routh nailed it, but I am one of the few who didn't like Spacey, and the story was lame.

Also I maintain that Bosworth was a terrible choice for Lois Lane, but I don't mind because I hated Margot Kidder too.

I was very pleased by this movie and have to say that TDK now has a big shoe to fill. I already expected a lot from TDK, but with the emergence of Iron Man, they have a responsibility to make sure it delivers, because frankly, Iron Man was more than I hoped for. I felt it delivered everything.

FOr the poster above me - I hope you stayed through the end of the credits regarding your complaint of a certain figurehead.

Also, there is a Thor movie int he works.
:bang2:
The only reason whyI waited as long as I did to see the movie was because my wife 'had' to see movie with me. Plus, she's impatient and we tend to leave the movie when the ending credits start to role--something I never do when I go to see a movie by myself. I should've know. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!

Thanks for the heads up on Thor.:

Hopefully, DC will make certain that GL, Flash and Rock are well good before they premiere, something which they haven't been able to do with the exception of the Nolan films. It would amaze me if they couldn't pull off a great Jonah Hex flick with the right director and actors. What a great and deep character to work with. Then again, I never knew that anyone could fall short on a Ghost Rider movie, either...

Yeah it was ok... I like the airplane scene the best.... and the scene where he saves them in the sinking ship....

I didnt care for the scene where he gets arse kicked.... not fightback whatsoever... come on....

Superman Returns was a grave disappointment for me--especially following the introduction of special effects which the Wachowski (sp?) brothers introduced in The Matrix trilogy. Goodness! This is Superman that we're talking about here, but with the exception of his rescue of Lane's jet and his removal of Luthor's mini-continent, that was it. No, real Superman level heroics at all. Plus, I'm still not happy with Singer's latitude for allowing Superman to somehow 'find the strength' for getting rid of the mini-continent FULL of kryptonite. Did... not.. make... any... sense.

Even so, I bought a copy of the movie anyway. Shoot. It's Superman, ain't it? :p:

As far as the Wonder Woman outfit is concerned, whomever is finally cast as Wonder Woman must be 'perfect'. Sorry female readers, that's a very sexist thing to say, but it's also 100% true.

I remember watching a made-for-TV Wonder Woman movie many years ago as a child which starred Cathy Lee Crosby in the title role. It wasn't a great movie, but it was entertaining enough and Crosby was the main reason why. She could act the role, but even as young as I was, I knew 'something' was missing.

A few years later, ABC introduced Linda Carter as Wonder Woman and everything made sense. While Carter wasn't as good an actress as Crosby, she acted well enough to pull off the dialogue (as cheesy as it was for the time) and filled out that costume to a T. Again, very sexist, but for Wonder Woman, one of the top three DC heroes along side Superman and Batman, imo. it's a necessity.

When they finally make a Wonder Woman movie and IF they cast any actress, whether it's someone known or an unknown, who has the acting chops AND looks great in that outfit, it should be a goldmine for DC. The Amazon Princess was taylor made for the big screen. Why it's taking this long to get this done blows my mind.

A couple of things I didn't like:
  • The notable absence of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s figurehead (don't want to give away a spoiler here)
  • For personal reasons, I wish that the bad guys had been located somewhere in Southeast Asia instead of Afghanistan, preferably China or Mongolia. I kinda hoped there had been some sort of tie-in or future reference to the introduction of The Mandarin.
Are you referring to Samuel Jackson's cameo at the end of the credits with that first one? You thought he should have been in the movie more?

And for the 2nd one, I thought they referenced the Mandarin by calling the afghan group the 10 rings, and having the leader playing with his huge ring all the time?

Jackson, huh? Damn, I hate I missed that. He would be a good you-know-who. Did he wear an eyepatch? :D I'll probably go watch the movie again just to see his appearance. In the book, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark are directly linked through the use of his technology, so I did expect to see a little more of him interacting with Stark instead of simple S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. However, the movie has good enough without him.

You may be right about the Mandarin analogy. If so, they downgraded a major villain from the Iron Man gallery by doing so. Then again, they didn't show the Afghan leader being killed, unlike the fate of his henchmen/soldiers.

I just got back from seeing IRONMAN

First 2/3 of movie were good. Last 1/3 was disappointing. They just seem to want to end it.

Overall I still liked it.

So... now that I have seen just about all of these movies in my lifetime I will rank them

1. Spider-Man 2 - brought to the screen right off the comic book pages - Doc Oc was best On Screen Villian

2. Superman 2 - good villian concept - ends with a nice twist - outsmarting the trio and Lex

3. Batman Begins - I liked this one better than all the other Batman movies put together - but as someone mentioned the ending was a disappointment.

4. Ironman - like I said 2/3 - 1/3 - it actually called for me action and needed it... that fight at the end was unimaginative - could have been more creative

Saw the trailer for The Incredible Hulk - its incredible... it doesnt look much better than the 1st one.... I am almost inclined to say that the TV series did a better job(for its time) than they are doing now with all the technology and effects

I believe he had the eye patch. I missed it in the theatre myself and had to watch it in very very poor quality on youtube. When I see it again I'll actually wait through the credits. The scene very clearly hints at the Avengers though.

As for the Mandarin, I don't believe they were implying the afghan was the Mandarin himself. From what I heard, in the comics the Mandarin gave his 10 "generals" each a ring. So if that holds, then the afghan leader is just someone who was under the Mandarin.
