The same old losing formula will pop its head come playoff time as our offense will disappear for the first 3 Quarters of the game and we fall a day and a dollar short.
Don't wanna ruin this Homer party you guys got going on but we are no Superbowl team by a long shot.:(

Wow. 11-4 record with two games left. I’m sorry you feel so miserable about their chances.

No poster needs to apologize for a prediction.

Normally I agree, but his post seems critical of the Cowboys.

In my opinion, his post reeked of hatred and was nothing more than a hate filled hate binge, fueled by the type of hate that only a true hater can fully hate with.
I hate saying this but Art needs to change his name to Hate Clink. That's how clearly hateful his hatred for the Cowboys is.

Ban him.

I will not be buying "fool's gold" or hope this post-season. This year's team resembles a lot of the other post-season Cowboys teams the past quarter of a century and I know the signposts that indicate the probabilities that we will finally make a deep playoff run.

Therefore, this post season I will guarantee three things.
  1. We will beat a near 500 team in the wild card round.
  2. We will lose to a quality team the next week.
  3. No NFC Championship game appearance again and certainly no Super Bowl.
If I am wrong, then I will be happy to make a public apology on this forum. But I've seen this movie before and it has a very predictable ending.

After 26 seasons of Super Bowl talk and watching us choke in the post-season, I don't care about the regular season or the wild card round. I only care about getting the 26 seasons and counting monkey off our back by appearing in the NFC Championship game. We don't even have to win it, but is it too much to ask to occasionally mk an NFC championship appearance?

I knew having George Strait play ATT&T Stajum was gonna bring us bad luck but not 26 years of post-season bad luck!

FWIW you're not alone. I would only pick a bone with one portion of your post--
George Strait is the king.
And even if it was his fault, AT&T has only been open since 2009 and iirc George played there in 2014. So at most, he can only be blamed for 8 or 15 years of the bad luck, depending on how you see it.

The previous years are not on him. He's a Cowboys fan too, I'm sure this is killing him.....

So offering an opinion on an opinions forum is against the rules and subjected to banning? Lol, read the forum rules again.
  1. I've likely been a fan a lot longer than you
  2. I likely know more about Cowboys history than you
  3. I am very familiar with the impact Jerry has had on our post-season results since the dynasty Jimmy built aged out of the league and Jerry took over as the Cowboys head coach (Jerry makes assistant coaching hires before he hires his "head coach")
  4. I do hate what Jerry has turned our once proud franchise into - zero NFC Championship appearances in 26 years and counting (only Washington and Detroit can match this level of playoff ineptness)
  5. I do hate that Jerry leaves the damn curtains open during reg season and playoff games since it cost us last year against SF when it ended a drive that would have given us a first down at midfield except the receiver was blinded by the sun
  6. I am likely a bigger Cowboys fan than you which is why I have so much passion about watching a drunk hillbilly assume command and a) refuse to give the hc any authority like hiring their own staff, b) refuse to close the curtains at home games which may have been the difference in our SF playoff game last season, c) does constant radio and tv interviews always mentioning the Super Bowl when we haven't reached the Conf title game in over a quarter of a century, and d) his bitter refusal to induct Jimmy into the ROH because the applause would be deafening.
  7. I don't appreciate so-called Cowboys fans who ignorantly name call other fans because they have a different opinion.
  8. I have little respect for Jerry Kool-Aid drinkers who spend their time bashing other forum members calling them "haters" and requesting they be banned just because they have a different viewpoint.
Learn your Cowboys history and understand that one man is responsible for our unmatched franchise playoff irrelevance. One man is responsible for longtime Cowboy fans skepticism about any deep playoff run, and I am among them. My opinion is simple: I see no signs that this playoff season will be any different than the past 26 seasons as it will end with us losing in soul crushing fashion so we fail to reach the NFC championship game yet again. I hope I'm wrong, but I will guarantee I'm not because this team suffers from the anti-Midas touch of the fuhrer.

I understand. I think longtime fans have become numb to any talk where we reach the conf championship game after such a long drought.
Yep, I stated in another thread that after 27 years of playoff failure, that's what we have been conditioned to expect.

I'm not going to request an apology on this one.... but I will request that you do me one favor Art. Might want to have a check up done on your sarcasm meter, it appears to be malfunctioning. My use of the word "hate" (or some derivative of it) no less than 10 times in about 4 sentences should have been your first tip......

My post was nothing more than me having a satirical laugh at the expense of all the self righteous types on this forum who go ballistic on anyone and everyone who expresses any criticism of, or lack of faith in, the Cowboys. If you check my post history, I spend a decent amount of time laughing at the people who call other people "haters". I think it's ridiculous TBH.

FWIW, I agree with a lot of what you said in your OP and I too expect another soul crushing finish to the season for a variety of reasons, some of which you already covered.
And either way, even if you and I were on the opposite side expectation wise (we're not, by the way), you have every right to your opinion.

I'm not saying you owe me an apology because I'm really not thin skinned. I can give as good as I get.
I am saying--you made a lot of assumptions about me and my post that were 180 degrees the opposite of the truth. Been a fan since age 7, cried myself to sleep the night of "The Catch", etc. Experienced some delirious highs and some horrible lows. Like you I am student of Cowboys history. Not trying to have a "measuring contest", just letting you know that you have me wrong on this one.

Just an FYI for you. Hope you have a Happy new Year bro.

No NFC team should scare the Cowboys if the Cowboys are on their game.
We are terrible against strong running teams or teams with misdirection running attacks. Both Philly with Hurts have this and San Fran has this. Those are facts and the same reason that San Fran was the team we did not want to meet in the playoffs last year and it held true.

Yes they should be scared and have to do a lot better than they have in the past to beat them!

Yeah not even sure why Dallas is going to playoffs, better off just handing the spot to someone else. lol History is just that history, it is the past. My concern is this team these players and these coaches to go out and get this job done. I really do not care what has happened in past. This team has a chance and really that is all any fan can hope for.

No worries and certainly no apology needed.

Honest mistake. I felt genuinely bad that you thought I was hoping for you to get banned.

Enjoy the game tonight.

Jerry is going to have a reinactment of when he fired Landry. Jerry wants to relive the joy from that day.

Part of that celebration will include Jerry showing his 3 Super Bowl trophies next to the 2 than Landry won.

Jerry will have signs showing that 2 in 29 years is equivalent to 3 in 43.5 years.

The signs will show that Jerry only needs to win 1 before 2032 to stay ahead of Landry.

I don’t we’re winning a Div round gm much less an actual Super Bowl as long as the Arkansas hillbillies own the team.

No NFC team should scare the Cowboys if the Cowboys are on their game.

I think every single team that has a record of .500 or up could say the same thing: "if we play as good as we're capable of, we can beat anyone."

But, it's like, playing as good as your capable of is what separates good teams from bad teams.

If the Raiders "played as good as they're capable of", they'd be 13-3 rigjt now.

Bucs look so bad right now. Can barely beat the Cards.

They matchup against us very well. Their Dline can push our line and they have the ability to run it on us. Our DTs will not push the A gap and Brady can comfortably sit and step into the pocket and dump quick passes out to Godwin. Our DBs don't match up well at all vs their WRs.
