Respectfully I'm happy you're not a player or in any way associated with the team. Does this team have flaws? Yes, but so does every other team. The '92 team was not "supposed to" win it.

Didn't the Panthers knock us out of the wild card round in 97' and 04'?

Bucs or Panthers doesn't matter we owe them both an *** whooping!

No Cowboys fan could be blamed for feeling this way. It’s certainly a logical conclusion after the last 27 years. I do have some hope but it’s based on how crazy the NFL is.

Logically the Cowboys don’t appear to be poised to do anything. But neither were the bengals last year or the ravens in 2012. Point is it’s possible. Not likely. But the blind squirrel theory in this parity driven NFL still applies. One of these days the Cowboys will break this curse.
Yea, no reason we really should feel guilty our frustration and disappointment could continue .

I’ve always said I hoped I’d sense or recognize when I thought the trend might change. I have liked how we have played for much of this season , especially defensively. That provides me hope things might be different this year.

But as Wild Card it’s going to be very tough on the road. We will be favored in opening round . So,I like our chances of winning one playoff game. But looks like we’d probably be going to Phil in divisional round which we won’t be favored to win. And I wouldn’t expect us too.

I’m seeing a SF/Phil champ game. And wouldn’t be surprised to see SF win.

And a win at Tampa and a loss at Phil shouldn’t be considered a failure with how this season begun. It should give us much confidence to build on next year going for our 3rd consecutive playoff season.

Which would be first time since 90’s run. The more often you get in becoming a consistent playoff team the better your chances become to finally break thru. That’s my positive spin.

Well, you’re not. The games haven’t been played yet.
Well, I have been right a lot about the futility of our hopes of seeing a deep playoff run from a Jerry coached, Jerry led team and we have exactly zero deep playoff runs over the past 26 seasons.

I will unfortunately be right again for the upcoming playoffs as well and you can call me Nostradamus after we come up short in the divisional round. Perhaps karma will finally let us advance to the NFC Championship game but not until our bitter owner puts Jimmy in the ROH. What a glorious day that will be as fans cheers the man that built a Super Bowl dynasty!!

You know I will be proved right. We all know it.

Unless you believe Dallas will NEVER reach another SB EVER... there's no reason not to believe.

This is about what I expect.

Once we get past the first game just don’t think our roster is talented enough to make a playoff run.

I think our roster IS talented enough to contend, but a combination of small things turns the tide in big games.

1)While Kellen Moore is a good OC, he has lapses. Sometimes he abandons the run too quickly. Other times he gets too cute with trick plays.
2)Dak is a good leader who flashes good play (like the Philly game), but throws a couple of bad passes each game, and you can’t do that against good teams. There are also times when he either holds the ball too long, or he tries to force the ball to someone.
3)Penalties. While we’ve brought the number down the past few games, they still happen too much. Also, we seem to get them at the worst possible times. Most are our own fault, but the frequency of odd coincidences give many pause.
4)Bad karma, Murphy’s Law, injuries, bad mojo, whatever…

I don’t know it and neither do you. I do know you hope like hell they fail in the playoffs so you can come back here and beat your little chest.
Not true sir, I’m hoping I’m wrong. After watching the creative ways we find to lose in the playoffs, color me a skeptic. 26 seasons in a row without a deep playoff run tends to make logical people skeptical. You can count on the sun rising in the east, the sun blinding our players in key moments at home games, and the Cowboys to deliver a soul crushing early playoff loss.

Normally, I'd be pessimistic as hell. But not a single squad in this group of NFC teams scares me. We literally can beat them all.

I will not be buying "fool's gold" or hope this post-season. This year's team resembles a lot of the other post-season Cowboys teams the past quarter of a century and I know the signposts that indicate the probabilities that we will finally make a deep playoff run.

Therefore, this post season I will guarantee three things.
  1. We will beat a near 500 team in the wild card round.
  2. We will lose to a quality team the next week.
  3. No NFC Championship game appearance again and certainly no Super Bowl.
If I am wrong, then I will be happy to make a public apology on this forum. But I've seen this movie before and it has a very predictable ending.

After 26 seasons of Super Bowl talk and watching us choke in the post-season, I don't care about the regular season or the wild card round. I only care about getting the 26 seasons and counting monkey off our back by appearing in the NFC Championship game. We don't even have to win it, but is it too much to ask to occasionally mk an NFC championship appearance?

I knew having George Strait play ATT&T Stajum was gonna bring us bad luck but not 26 years of post-season bad luck!
Hard to argue this.

I view it like this. Jerry always manages to hype the team up into overconfidence levels going into the playoffs. They always eat the cheese. Every.single.time. Then they choke in the playoffs. It's what they do. The defense suddenly forgets how to defend, and the O-line turns into tissue paper, making our QB run for his life. Receivers coat their hands in butter before playoff games. It was that way with Romo. It's that way with Dak. Will it be different this year? Given the way in which they choked a couple of games this year to teams that aren't that great, no. I think they'll get bumped off before the Divisional round....if they manage to make the Divisional round that's their exit. They won't make the NFC Championship. If by some miracle their opponents choke harder and they make the NFC Championship, they'll lose in it.

One thing that would help would be to kidnap Jerry in the last week of the regular season and duct tape his mouth shut until the SB is over.

Look at the bright side.

If the Cowboys get bounced in the WC or DR they'll have the opportunity to learn from it, and do better next time.
Lol.....haven't we heard this line post playoff loss like 3 times already?....

yeah but they held us to a fg at home 3 months ago

Plus we haven't won a road p/o game since 92'

It would be nice to break that streak.
Yeah but we had no Schultz and had Dennis Houston and Jalen Tolberto playing wr.......Times have changed......we now have the secret sauce Noah Brown playing opposite lamb!

Matchups. They own the Cowboys. Their defense will make Prescott look like what he is and Brady will make enough plays to beat us. Like he always does.
Of course you think this. I’d be disappointed if you didn’t. Want to bet on it?

Well they keep getting schooled, but I’m not sure how much they learn from it.
