Exactly. If Romo were to refuse to play in Cleveland, then a having him as part of a direct trade with the Browns isn't happening.

But if you give him a choice of the Browns, backup in Dallas or retirement he may decide Cleveland is preferable.

I scoff at the notion of asking a player anything. Know your role.

The sad part is Jerry probably will cater to Romo. I wouldn't. I'd look for the best deal there is and tell Antonio it's either this or your playing career is over.

At Romo's age, I'm not sure the Browns are preferable to retirement. I completely agree that the player shouldn't be calling the shots, but Romo would have some sway in the situation.

Romo will probably be long gone before the draft anyway, so this is likely a moot point.

It's the only thing I'd like about the trade up. Hopefully Garrett would get some nice clean shots at Rayne in practice.

You mean clean shots of Wentz in games...

Not even remotely close, imo.
Who really knows though...
If Romo agreed, I could actually see Cleveland agreeing to that. That would attract some FAs with that 100 million in cap space and probably buys the GM and coach some time to work that money ball thing. I can't see the Browns being patient when it comes to keeping upper management if it just keeps getting them top 5 picks. If that buys them some time, they would probably at least consider it.

Extreme long shot but not an impossibility.

There's actually less of a chance of Jerry strong arming Romo than there is the Browns coveting Romo.

We tend to player worship in Dallas. Hence Jason Witten still the forever and ever starting TE.

My biggest fear is Romo actually telling Jerry to trade him to one certain team and Jerry says ok. Of course his agent will leak that to that team and the Cowboys will get jack, cut Romo and he goes there anyways.
