AMEN

Especially #2

I'd add Kathleen Madigan

You're going to get drilled for this but I agree

I'm going to get drilled for this but I'll say Robin Williams. He just always seemed so wound up I could barely understand what he was saying

Honestly I always thought Robin Williams was a far better actor than comedian, personally
Robin Williams was just annoying as heck. He would just fire one liners out like a chain gun hoping one would be funny but to me is was exhausting.

Kreischer was best in the beginning of his career with his thrill ride show. I don't think I've laughed more watching candid reactions on those crazy rides.
The skits were funny for sure. But that's why I used Belushi as example, it is physical comedy that has limited scope and relies on reactions so you can simply publish the funniest ones; then when asked to stand/sit there and tell a joke he falls insanely flat.
He has some interesting history and stories, but they really aren't funny.

None of them are funny. The funny ones have mostly gone :(
Geniuses like Rodney Daingerfield, Sam Kinesin, George Carlin, Johnny Carson, Bob Newhart (still with us), etc Lots of good younger ones down under who are funny as like Claire Hooper (Australia) and Cal Wilson (New Zealand.)

Agreed. No different than the rest of Hollywood and Netflix. A lot of the new fresh stuff is from international markets that have caught up to the American Hollywood. I know Trevor Noah was on this list earlier, but I consider him part of that, and another guy is Ronny Chieng. I’ll check out those Ozzies and Kiwis you recommend. ;)

Amy Schumer definitely makes the list. Some people get their start doing standup but are better suited in movies. Robin Williams is a good example of his acting career far outweighing his stand up routines.

A few stand ups on Netflix I thought were pretty funny..

Christina P- Mom Genes
Leanne Morgan- I’m every woman

Amy Schumer has been around for years. She has done comedy specials, movies, you name it.

I have never laughed at anything she has ever said or done. Nothing. Nada. What is the appeal? I don't get it.

I really have no idea. She’s just not very funny yet people keep paying to see her?? It’s a mystery!

It must be a case where she resonates with some people, but not others. At most, she's made me chuckle a few times. I know people like to hold her up as a woman comic who has made it, but she doesn't seem very good to me. Joan Rivers was way better. Rivers had me laughing silly, may she rest in peace.

I think Joan Rivers is one of the most underrated comics of all time. She was way ahead of her peers what she talked about and if she had been alive now, her Talk Show would still probably be going. She was still funny as an old lady. I read the the TV Series The Marvelous Mrs.Maizel is allegedly a creative liberty take on her life? More inspiration than true history, I guess.

She was a master of self-deprecating humor. She would come out and put herself down about her looks, her age, etc., and we all loved her. She was so hilarious. There's a Youtube clip of her where she tells a Hellen Keller joke, and some goober heckles her. She totally ripped him to shreds. It was brilliant.
...
I was super bummed when Joan Rivers died. Something went wrong in some dumb cosmetic surgery procedure. That makes me sad because I'm 100 percent certain her fans would have accepted her looking older. Cosmetic surgery was not needed. We loved her for her genius sense of humor, not for her looks.

I liked the old Chappell
No way. Hours of entertainment on all those Netflix specials he released. I'm glad Netflix paid a treasure horde for them.

While we're on Chapelle and his former Chapelle Show co-star, Bill Burr, here's another underrated comedian that wrote with them whom I don't think gets enough credit. Neal Brennan.

Some of the trouble is that it's hard to be funny all of the time and most of the time material gets old. Sometimes the material is mediocre but the delivery sells it. Comedy has always been subjective but it boggles my mind how some people have gotten famous that way because I never found them funny in the slightest. Others might elicit a few chuckles from time to time.

It's much rarer that a comedian can keep you laughing through a whole set or even multiple sets. I do think some of the older greats that have passed on were better at keeping you laughing. There are so many on this thread that I agree that aren't funny. They might have uttered a funny joke on rare occasion but in general were/are just not entertaining. I think it helps to be drunk to find some of them hilarious.

So rather than list all of the ones I find unfunny, I'll list the three that are probably tied for "most inexplicably famous and terribly annoying" in my book:

Amy Schumer
Pauly Shore
Carrot Top
