Leonard and Green rotate on Thompson. Parker and Joseph rotate on Curry......also, by making Curry cover Parker, Mills, and Joseph all game, it will wear him out over a 7 game series.

CB is right... even though i'm not a huge fan of his as an analyst :

"First of all I've always believed analytics was crap," Barkley said on TNT's postgame coverage of the Rockets' 127-118 win over the Phoenix Suns. "You know I never mention the Rockets as legitimate contenders 'cause they're not. And listen, I wouldn't know Daryl Morey if he walked into this room right now."

Barkley made his case after saying the Rockets -- 36-16 and third in the West -- were poor on defense among playoff-contending teams despite being among the top statistical teams in the NBA defensively.

"Just because you've got good stats doesn't mean you're a good team defensively," Barkley said. "They're not a good defensive team. They gave up 118 points. No good team gives up 118 points."

various:

I like Barkley and he has some validity to what he is saying but also a bit of old man good ole days syndrome.
I tend to think you should use analytics because you can in this day and age and they should match what you see.
When they don't you should spend some time trying to find out why.

The Rockets are legit contenders but in the West that applies to like 7 teams.
Any one of those teams could get favored match ups and have a very good to great player get hot when it matters.
In the West claiming any of the top 8 is not a contender isn't a big gamble. Cause there are so many of them odds are with you.

My poor Mavs are hurting. Rondo, Ellis and Tyson out... good grief. Do love the news they may add both O'Neal and Stoudemire after extended all-star break.
I can see through my homer-vision a scenario where they add those guys and climb to the 4 seed. Then win it all. Both guys would help with rebounds, Stoudemire would lift the bench scoring and O'Neal helps interior defense. The second group becomes viable and Carlisle would have those pieces to master mind like he did in 2011. All that said, they are hurting right now and without some luck on injuries and getting those additions they could easily drop a 1st round series:( Which would be brutal with Dirk/Tyson at their age.

Awesome sig pic of the real Foxxy Brown.

Tonight is further evidence that the Rockets will be one and done again. They can not live and die by the 3-pointer in the playoffs where they actually try to defend the other teams strength. They are 9-43 as I write this with 2 minutes left!

If Harden is off, they have no chance of winning. Aside from him, the rest of the team is made up of hot or cold shooters who mostly launch it from three point land as well.

They are really missing another defensive player and a mid-range shooter. Passing on Rondo two years ago was a mistake as I have said many times :(

Yeh, I'm not sure if I believe in the Rockets.... can't see the team they've assembled winning anything.
A lot of good pieces though.

Well, it's about time for the home stretch. I ran my mouth and said the Spurs would be no worse than a 3rd seed come playoff time, and right now they are 3 games in back of the 3rd seed. They have given so many games away this year with poor play in the closing minutes. If they are able to clean that up, they will be fine. The closing leg of the Rodeo Road Trip will be crucial to their seeding, as they play the Clippers, Warriors, and Blazers during the 6 game span.

Amare will be available soon,
the real gem might be Larry Sanders, who looks like he will be bought out as well.

Amare will be a Mav.

Larry Sanders has to stay out of trouble and motivated.
Wouldn't surprise me to see him go to the Knicks.

Knicks would be a good landing place for Sanders, I think the Hornets & Suns should look as well..... Even though you are right on Amare most likely, Sanders actually provide what they could use, a rebounding rim protector to back up Chandler. But I believe J. O'neal is still on there radar as well.

From a Mav standpoint Sarge or O'Neal(maybe both) will handle that back up rebounder/defender spot. --agree on mediocre shot blocking.
Charlie V is your depth stretch 4 that basically gets replaced by Stoudemire.

Sanders has real issues. And is going to look to a team that can pay him a lot of money next year.
If right, he has real upside but Dallas is going for it all now and doesn't want any knuckleheads..

I heard Mavs and Clips are interested with Spurs as a dark horse. I agree that Dallas is his landing spot, though. They need backup bigs and a lot of help with all the injuries they're dealing with right now.

Sounds like Amare to Dallas was done before he even accepted a buy out.
Nothing is official until he shows up in a new spot tho but I do believe Dallas makes the most sense given his options.

Dallas has a great training staff which is a lure and Tyson Chandler is selling that Amare would love the pick and roll offense here.

From a Mav fan stand point the bigger question is O'Neal.
Will he come in and if he does can he play even 12 mins a night plus the obvious who gets released to add these old dudes Carlisle loves,

Lots of moving parts and the real challenge of getting the mix working by the playoffs, which is a tough task.
Carlisle is really good though and it's a nice problem to have when the alternative is sitting out and hoping on a ping pong ball.

Amare to Dallas looks done. Expect him to play Thursday night versus OKC.

Should be interesting to see if he can replace that offensive threat on the second unit.
Could see some offensive rotations where Dirk and Amare play together giving the Mavs that Wright/Dirk look that destroyed team defenses.

Definite upgrade over Greg Smith and Dwight Powell and Charlie V. Should bring rebounding and scoring.
Sarge has to bring interior defense at the back up C since JO looks to be staying on his couch indefinitely/permanently.
