Really impressive win tonight for Dallas versus Memphis.
That felt like a playoff game.

The WC playoffs are gonna be a beautiful nightmare we all can't help but watch.
The EC playoffs are gonna just be a nightmare.

I hate the Mavs, but that win helped the Spurs in the standings, so it's all good.

not me, since the Spurs will be winning the division. Dallas will be at best the 3 seed.

If the playoff started today the WC run would look like this:
1. GS vs PHO ... insanely high scoring first round!
2. POR vs SAS ... young ascending team versus wily vet group in a mirror match up. aldridge/duncan lilliard/parker batum/leonard
3. MEM vs LAC ... how physical would that series get? yikes.
4. DAL vs HOU ... wow, how awesome would this r1 be? the hate is real.

The Clippers are anything but physical. Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan can't hang with Z-Bo and Marc Gasol (and this is coming from a Clips fan).

That's not really true. The LAC have long had a reputation as soft. Especially Griffin so they combat that by being as physical as possible.

I saw the Mavs have the same knock for a decade and it was nonsense.
Jordan and Griffin are very physical players under Doc.
But they are not ZBO and Marc for sure. They are more athletic and less floor bound.
That series would be a bloodbath as they try to hang physically tho I can promise you.

Barnes, Griffin and Jordan are all in the top 10 for technical fouls.
They also are tied for 11th for most total fouls on the season. Barnes is in the top 20 and he is a rotation guy.

I would have to suggest if you do not think they are physical you are not watching much Clips basketball (fan or not).

DeAndre Jordan leads the league in slam dunks by 30.
Blake Griffin is 8th.

I don't know about that...... playoff basketball and regular season basketball are different animals.... And GS need Lee and Bogart to be healthy to have a shot of getting out of the west.

yup. the West is a buzzsaw and what happens once you get to the playoffs will be very different from regular season basketball.

hoping my mavs can get their heads out of their butts and also add jermaine o'neal in the next week or so.
once we get past the all-star break basketball will change a bit then it will change again once the playoffs come.

High-scoring teams never go all the way in the NBA. The playoffs will force a whole lot of half-court games and I'm not sure if Golden State is built for that. Any number of teams could give them fits - Memphis, Houston, SA, Dallas, Portland -- would all be bad matchups for GS in a best of 7.

Certainly won't be Houston, GS owned them

I don't see any ferocious defense in the West to give them problems in a series, maybe SA or Portland if they get it together, I don't know.

Houston will probably be one and done again, they can't live or die with Harden in the playoffs. If he is off, the Rockets usually lose.

High scoring teams can and do win but what doesn't win is teams that can not play defense.
GS however can play defense. They have arguably the best 2/3 combo defense in basketball.
What they lack is playoff experience.
That's why they probably fall a bit short this year.
