I like watching the Clippers without Griffin. Don't know why.

They just layed a smack down on the OKC Westbrooks.

An 8th seed who likely has no Bosh to end the season.
IF they remain 8th they play ATL in round 1 and it looks like CLE in round 2... good luck with that.

They get worse because Dragic is a poor defender. So they trade his added offense for more defensive-minded players.

Buy out players generally only help you now. The Heat suck right now so that's really not the issue even if they can talk a buy out guy into coming there over a team that is a contender.
The issue is going forward.
They traded off about 40 minutes per night and two 1st round picks for a guy who'll give them 30... a loss of depth for sure.
They traded off their 4th, 6th and 10th highest minutes played guy to add 1 player.

They have been terrible offensively so are trading offense for defense.

The biggest issue with trading off picks is it limits you using them going forward in trades. You can't trade back to back picks so it ties you up for a long time.

Grabbing a starting PG is generally a good move but adding one who couldn't start somewhere else and betting one his 1 all-star caliber season is a huge gamble.

Well, they didn't know about Bosh till the day after. sigh
I'll take an offensive guy like Dragic and lose out on whatever defensive game was lost by Cole and Chalmers.
They won't miss any of the guys they traded off. I haven't checked, are those guys getting any minutes outside of Cole?
The lack of picks can/will hurt them, but they aren't worried about '17-'21. Riley has a short time left IMO, and he wants the team to be playoff bound every year. It's a risk with Dragic, and his upcoming payday, but I still like the trade for this year and hopefully next year.

better floor spacing and more room for CP3 to operate is probably why:)
but in the playoffs a physical presence like griffin has real value.

yes, yes, yes.... griffith and Jordan duplicate each other in many areas, save blake's ability to handle the ball in the open court and hit the 15fter....

miami knew before the trade bosh was likely gone which is what makes it all so odd.
media and fans knew after but the team was aware of bosh's situation.

again i just don;t get it from a team building stand point.
i mean the mavs are regretting the rondo move right now and they are an actual playoff team that is 16 games over .500.

dragic looks long-term like a dwade replacement really. on ball guy and scorer.
better creator for others but far less defense.

end of the day they just look like a desperate team to me.
i don't think they hold on and make the playoffs.
and i don't see how they get much better over the off-season now.

anyways my mavs are seriously6 sucking too if that comforts you at all. --trading for PGs hasn't turned out to be helpful this year... maybe next.
when dallas traded for kidd they got worse at first then he played a major part of a title run.

outside memphis the league has largely moved to the stretch 4 concept.
that raises everyone's 3 point shooting percentage.
the clips have that look with a good bit with griffin out and have been deadly on offense.

Nah, I actually like the Mavs, until they are playing the Heat in the finals lol.
I guess for me, it's the first time I've seen a quality, offensive, PG for the Heat. chalmers and Cole could never bring this type of game consistently. Close one game, then the next 3-4 games they are awol.

I think Miami's plan is to hope Bosh can return to form next year, and hope to have a better year injury wise.

A starting five of: Dragic-Wade-Deng-Bosh-Whiteside is good for the East
Then they'll have Chalmers(possibly)-Johnson-Ennis/Walker-McRoberts as the main backups, or possibly go after some better depth guys in the offseason.

I don't think they'll be a top 4 team, especially with Wade's health, but if they can keep Bosh healthy, and Whiteside's temper under control, I think they can make some noise next year.

rewind a few years back... and this is all video game philosophy, so whatever.... but what if you move harden and ibaka to lac to when everyone loved blake..... much more balanced team for la.... again, just throwing out impossibilities....

the problem the clippers will run into, they resign jordan this year, between him cp3, and griffith.... that's your cap right there...
they need to improve on the wings... not to mention jordan and griffith are both unreliable at the ft line late in games...

I'll be amazed if he can turn himself around.
hoping that 3rd time is a charm, but not going to get excited about his potential anymore.

understood...
he's been saying the right things... and having a kid/people depending on him seems to have affected him.

I am absolutely ticked off at the Spurs right now......make your dang FTs, especially in crunch time. If Leonard makes just one of the two FTs he missed at the end of regulation, the Spurs win that game tonight.

Irving was out of his mind tonight and will never, ever play another game like that again. He was making shots, while highly contested, that people only make in HORSE while not contested at all.

The Spurs blew another golden opportunity to gain ground in the West. They are now 1-5 in OT this year. At least 3 of those games should have been won by the Spurs in regulation, including tonight, but they choked them away.

oh well onto the game Sunday

Rockets falling now as well. Brewer is going to ruin what chance Harden had at MVP.

I have to tease you a bit because I remember how you felt about the Cavs at the beginning of the season.. and I noticed that you didn't use their name...

How do you feel now??

don't take it personal...just teasing...;)

The Spurs contested 30 of Kyrie's 32 attempts. He was just in the zone. Not a lot you can do when guys get like that. Oh well, the Spurs are playing better. I'll take it.

cavs/spurs was a great game.

that cavs team is pretty nasty.
they sat love and played tremendous in the clutch.

kyrie is gonna ascend to join anthony davis on that all nba level as youngsters.

that's why im not mad at their D. they were on him like white on rice and he still drained everything he threw up.

im mad that we cant seem to make clutch FTs this year. kawhi missed 3 in a row late in the 4th......including the 2 that would have sealed the victory.

I love leonard and want him to be a lifelong Spur, but for that huge payday, he needs to deliver in the clutch.....not only at the line, but also on D. instead of fouling Irving before he could shoot and sending to the line for 2, he hesitated and allowed the shot which tied the game to send it to OT.

but it was a great game, im just smarting over the loss. the Washington/Memphis game was great too, aside from the score. It reminded me of 80s/early 90s basketball.

mavs looked good last couple nights out.
much better stuff from rondo.

it really looks like okc is gonna hang to the 8 seed than it will be really interesting to see them play GSW.
okc has a lot more playoff experience so overall that looks like a must see 7 game series going way of home team to me.

man the WC playoffs are gonna be amazing.

dallas versus houston in round 1 would be sublime!
I-45 series where both teams fans could try and grab away tickets.
that would be awesome if it holds. --tho it changes after every game lol.

harden in versus rondo
parsons versus houston
cuban versus morey

man oh man!
