Yup, the Rockets are exposed. If Harden doesn't show up, they have zero chance. As it stands now, their chance is minimal with the critical minutes the back-ups and D-league players are getting :(

Great pick......I am so sick of Harden flailing all over the court and the refs slobbering over him and sending him to the FT line. I am also sick of Dwight Howard throwing those elbows and bulling people out of the way and not getting called for it. Tonight they did call it a few times, but on other plays, he drew a foul even though he was the one who invaded the Spurs' player's space and initiated all the contact.

I wish Harden played 25 years ago, they would have punked his sorry backside. The Bad Boys would have left him sitting in the corner, sucking his thumb, soaked in a puddle of his own urine. The Miami, Knicks, Pacers, and Bulls teams of the 90s would have done the same to him. Karl Malone would have knocked him out with one of those illegal elbows to the temple, right after John Stockton gave him one of his signature punches to the man parts. He would have had to basically leave in an ambulance to earn a trip to the FT line.

All that being said, any team playing the Rockets shout purposefully send Smith, Howard, and Dorsey to the FT throughout each game. Their poor FT shooting is an invitation to the Hack a Player strategy. Put poor FT shooters at the line and keep the ball away from Harden, Ariza, and Terry. Ariza is on fire right now. Leaving him open for 3 is not a good idea at all. Oh and that Jones guy played very well the last two games. He frustrated me to no end.

Unfortunately, Utah lost to Memphis tonight. We really needed Memphis to lose to have a better shot at the 2 seed. Of course, If we get the 2 seed we get Dallas no matter what, cause they are locked in at 7. If we stay at the 3 seed, we get either the Rockets or Clippers in the 1st round.

I do hate the Rockets. However, I felt the same way about Harden and Howard in their previous spots.

As far as Hakeem goes, yes he got the better of the Spurs in 95, but one on one, he couldn't stop David.....just as David couldn't stop him. One on one, they cancelled one another out. However, in that series, Rudy T outcoached Bob Hill. Hill left David on an island against Hakeem, while Rudy T double and triple teamed David all series. Of course, Rockets fans refuse to acknowledge this fact.

It annoys me that these modern players all look at the ref every time they miss a shot, turn it over, or simply fall down. It annoys me that offensive players are allowed to run into, kick, or elbow defensive players who are simply standing their ground and getting FT attempts. BTW, this also includes Spurs players.

That is why the NBA has become unwatchable for me until late in the season and playoffs. Too much flopping and whining for fouls these days.

It is no longer a team sport but individuals trying to be the next Jordan or whoever.......i.e. LBJ :)

Harden did show up but the Spurs defense on him in both games was outstanding.

You must not watch the Spurs. They are the opposite of what you describe.

The Spurs, Hawks, and Warriors play a team game......of course, look at the coaches.....Pop, Bud, and Kerr.

Did you even watch Hakeem and that rockets team? If not for Jordan they would have won several titles

Yes I watched and watched in dismay as Hakeem dominated David in those playoffs but to say he was light years ahead of David is equivalent to female hyperbole. You lose all cred when you make such an asinine statement like that.

OMG I've "lost cred" on an Internet forum to a poster I don't know

How will my ego ever recover?

As a huge Spurs fan, it pains me, but I would give the edge to Hakeem over David. It's hard to say that as I've always considered Robinson to be the NBA's version of Roger Staubach.

That was the golden age for NBA centers, there were so many good ones during that time. If David or Hakeem played today, either would run roughshod over this league, there are no centers that could hope to slow either of them down.

Hakeem Post Moves were far and away the best of any big man since the 80's, he could hit the jumper, he was deadly in the passing lanes, and he could block shots... and he was probably only 6-9... not to mention
